Matter Compostable Tall Kitchen Trash Bags - 13gal/40ct

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that there are durable and strong kitchen bags that do not have a negative environmental impact! There’s no scent and they’re big enough to fit my garbage for the week.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impression when I took the bag out was how robust it was. The majority of my experiences with a variety of compostable bags both at work and at home have been negative. They just fall apart or are so thin that you need to double bag not to tear them. This bag however is the most similar to other off the shelf non-compostable bags. It is robust and don’t break down too quickly when introduced to my wet kitchen waste. Over all an excellent option and easily the best I’ve encountered. The only reason it don’t get a five was because the material is so slippery and there is no form fit around the top that it kept slipping off the lip of the trash container I had. This wouldn’t be a problem for a stand alone can with a sleeve that it can pinch between but my built ins wouldn’t hold them. To improve and make them a 5/5 I suggest some sort of build in synching mechanism at the opening to tighten over the can. Otherwise, it would also be easy to 3D print some clips out of PLA (also biodegradable) and include a set in each box.

So these just make sense to me. The Matter 13-gallon compostable bags are a great eco-friendly option. They’re fully compostable in 12 months with no harmful chemicals, and can be used in both backyard and industrial composting. They’re not quite as stretchy as regular plastic bags, but they still hold up well and get the job done. I love that they fit perfectly in a standard kitchen can, and the strong drawstring handles make tying and carrying super easy. Best of all, Matter compostable bags are internationally certified, so I know I’m using something that’s truly safe for the planet.

It's not ideal when you grab it, thinking it's a regular trash bag and your trash ends up all over the floor. But that's on me, and not the product. I just need to learn how to read labels.

I love that these are earth friendly and made from plants yet durable with drawstrings to make for easy disposal without snapping. There's no scent and I haven't had any issues with these bags busting or ripping open on me. I like the environmental fact and QR code on each bag and these fit my kitchen trash can perfectly. The only issue I had was one of the bags did leak just a bit, but these are worth it in my opinion!

They stay up in my kitchen garbage can, so I dont have to worry about them slipping down into the can and making a huge mess. The bags are durable and not easily ripped or not easily penetrated by sharp edges. The drawstrings are long and heavy duty, easy to use, and easy to tie. I like that they are better for the environment, whether you are using them for food scraps only or for regular trash. This is a brand that I am definitely proud to stand behind and I would recommend it to all my friends and family!

I’m not really sure how to rate a garbage bag other than it rips or doesn’t rip when full. I’d consider buying these if price is right as they are better for the environment than others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Matter Compostable Tall Kitchen Trash Bags 13 gal/40ct free for my honest review and they are the best trash bags I’ve ever used. They are sturdy and open easily. They fit my trash can perfectly and can hold a lot of weight. They are unscented but made so well that you can’t really smell anything in the trash anyways. My only complaint is the cost, they are more expensive but the quality is worth it.

One downside though is they do puncture a bit easier, but that is okay. Not one bag has fully ripped out of the 10+ I have used so far, just small tears from sharp edges here and there. I like that these bags are made from plants and are fully compostable!!! How cool is that?? No plastic bag waste! Awesome idea and awesome for the environment!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately I was left with a big mess in the bottom of my trash can. If you throw away any type of fruit or veggie waste it will disintegrate the bag. I had a few corn cobs from dinner and a banana peel and when I took the bag out of the bin there was a huge hole. I guess that is a sign that it’s compostable as advertised. I will continue to use the trash bags for other things but I don’t actually recommend them for the kitchen.

The size is wonderful for me since i compost all my vegetable peels, stale bread and other compostable things every 2-3 days. These bags are amazing quality and hold the weight well. These bags are super helpful and perfect size. I also feel these would be super helpful to small restaurants and at home chefs.
