Q: Is the plastic BPA free? Please answer the question, yes or no.
submitted by cr202 - 4 months ago
A: Thank you for your question! All plastic contains at least a trace amount of BPA by design and when a product states BPA Free means that the BPA levels are below the levels allowed to be compliant with testing standards. Our products fall into the same category as our competitors in which the trace amounts of BPA in the plastics are so far below industry standard allowance that it cannot be detected and is completely safe, but we understand that stating "BPA Free" while true to industry standard is not true to exact meaning so we use the term "BPA Compliant"

Disappointed in fruit basket
Very very tiny. Wish I not purchased. Not worth the hassle of returning.

Fun with Food.
Bought this for my 18 month old granddaughter. What's there to say? Who doesn't love fake food? Specially when it's so realistic like these fruits are. She's learning all her fruits. She's gotten them all down pat. I love playing with her with all of the fake food. Some things you never outgrow!

I would definitely buy this product again!
I ordered this toy for the kids in my day care. The size of the fruit is just right for their hands, it's colorful and well made. The basket and fruit seem as though they'll hold up through many years of play.

Soft and durable!
I love the New Sprouts play food! Totally worth the price difference of the cheap plastic play food. Soft, durable and realistic looking. The basket this comes in is a cute addition to her kitchen play. My daughter loves playing with her kitchen! :)

Exactly what I needed!
I use this product in my classroom during our foods unit. We use it to identify the different fruits and their colors. We use compare the toy to pictures of the fruit. The students enjoy playing with them. We also use it to practice the concepts of "put in' and "take out". The fruit pieces are very durable... even when chewed on! I just wish the pieces were a little larger.

Bushels of Fruity Fun
My son loves play food. He likes to pretend he is cooking, eating and shopping. He also likes to pretend he is feeding the dog play food. I love that he has a great imagination and that I can count on Learning Resources to help him with one of his favorite forms of pretend. This was perfect for my busy 3 year old. While he loves play food, getting him to eat the real deal can be a challenge. Using pretend fruits and veggies has been helpful to breaking the barrier. At this time last year my son would run and hide at the sight of grapes or an orange. Now that we have incorporated pretend fruit into our daily play he will go as far as to lick any kind of fruit. That is a baby step, but an important one! Before long he will have the courage to eat fruits I hope. The Bushel of Fruit is a great set of pretend food. It is the right size for small hands. The pieces are sturdy and durable which is very important to me, my son can be rough on toys. I love that these fruits are easy to wash and dry. The aspect of imaginative play makes them perfect for young children. I have been very impressed with this set of play food, I hope to get the Bushel of Vegetables for him soon to begin working the wonderful world of veggies into his play time and diet.
