It gets the job done however, you can turn on the nightlight feature after hitting the button multiple times and it’ll either turn off the same way or you have to unplug it to turn it off.

The baby unit has extremely low battery life. Kept it on the charger overnight, and the first time I took it off to move around the house, it died after 4 hours. The next time I took it off the charger after 7 hours, it was dead in less than 2 hours. I wouldn't recommend this at all. I'd rather pay double for something more reliable.

It works well enough as far as sound quality, but the receiver desperately needs a base to secure it. It doesn't stand up on its own and falls over if either it or the cord is touched by anything else on the table. I don't normally give such low reviews, but not having a base has been enough of a hassle for me to do so.

It is actually incredible that something so inexpensive can be as useful and effective as this is. It hears and conveys noises from the room being monitored. It appears to have a low threshold, below which sounds are not picked up, but it definitely has conveyed all the sounds I needed to hear; moving, walking, getting up etc... not breathing or light snoring. I added the rechargeable battery that was shipped with the unit and it took a few hours to become charged. I have only tried it for short periods off of the power supply, but so far so good. It works, and I am able to monitor the person in the room I am responsible for. I sometimes lose confidence because of low ambient sound, but when there is movement it is picked up. The overall volume does not get very high, but it seems to be high enough.

Wanted a voice only monitor, so I didn’t have to rely on my phone overnight. Quality of sound is comparable to my 300+ monitor. Includes a nightlight that projects stars on the ceiling that can be turned on and off with the monitor. The rechargeable batteries have lasted me one whole Night because I forgot to put it on the charger.

Great device. Works well. The stars that light up the ceiling are a sweet bonus. I do wish that the listening part had a base (like an old home phone charging station) as it is very prone to topple over but for the price the quality is great. Would recommend

It works fine, but they only thing that is really frustrating, that it doesn't really show when the parent unit is fully charged. I had it plugged in to charge from the morning almost to my baby's bed time in the evening and thr red light was still showing. The star light on the baby unit is TOO bright, could have been more dimmed

I read through the entire product description before ordering this. This is the second vtech monitor I’ve purchased believing to have a battery in BOTH the parent and baby unit. THE BABY UNIT MUST BE PLUGGED IN TO WORK. Both units DO NOT have a rechargeable battery unlike the description states.

I’ve had this monitor for over a year and it works great. The part that charges, holds charge during my baby’s 2 hour nap time and then I place it back on the charger until her bedtime. I keep it plugged in next to my bed at night. The sound is sensitive; I can hear her turning in the bed so I keep the volume on the lowest setting. I feel like the range works pretty well also. I’m able to go outside and I can still hear her when she wakes.

Range, volume, sound, and clarity are amazing. I use it for my laundry room. I have an old school washer, and it doesn't have a rinse agent compartment. So, I have to listen intently for the cycle to change to Rinse and then haul tail upstairs to add the laundry disinfectant while the door is unlocked. I'd oftentimes miss the window and would have to start the cycle all over again because the machine doesn't have a rinse only cycle. I don't know why the owner went with that crappy machine in a new build, but I'm glad to have found a solution in this gadget. Also, I haven't experienced any of the issues others experienced. I'm able to power off/on the units individually.

Works great! Even picks up fan sounds when on high so you can tell it's working for us anxious moms. Lights are cute but could be distracting for babies feeding at night

I love that it has a nightlight feature, and my 2 year old loves that it projects the stars onto the ceiling. The battery life seems decent, I haven’t had a chance to use it to its full potential yet. It’s also pretty durable. I caught my toddler smacking it on the wall one day and there was no damage done to it (my wall on the other hand….) I also cannot speak on the range as I’ve only had to use it in the next room over. The sound of good also. Overall I like this set and it’s a great backup to our video monitor.

The monitor is difficult to turn on

The power switch on the parent unit will not turn off the unit. That caused several problems: 1. To charge the battery, you need to have the unit plugged in, which means the power is on, so it takes a lot longer to charge the battery. 2. With the parent unit on and the baby unit off (so it's not drawing power when not in use) the parent unit beeps incessantly because it's not getting a signal from the baby unit. So, in order to charge the battery you have to have both units on - wasting electricity. 3. It's very inconvenient to unplug the parent unit (and then the battery won't charge.) I called technical support and he said the power switch should definitely turn off the parent unit, but he couldn't figure out how to get it to work, so he told me to return the unit to Target. I did, but the second parent unit switch doesn't work, either. Read all the 1 star reviews - they all say the same thing. VTech missed the mark with this baby monitor.

Vtech is a popular brand which so many products for mommy and baby. I do have a camera in the baby room but this one is very helpful, range, Audio baby monitor very simple to install, battery life time, small device but work very well.
