Oreck Commercial U2000R-1 Upright Vacuum, 12" Cleaning Path, Red/Gray

We have utilized the Oreck Commercial XL since 2021, and as of 2026, it continues to perform exceptionally well. I replaced the belt and brush on February 10, 2026, and it is still functioning optimally, effectively capturing both dog and cat hair, as well as catnip. I am very satisfied with its performance. Please note that a Kex set is required for accessing the bottom component.

Purchased this product for a daycare, so using it daily, but nothing extreme. The belt fell off almost daily and needed to be put back on, even after replacing the belt itself it was still the same issue. While it was still under warranty, oreck sent us a replacement, and initially it seemed like that vacuum was better. However after just a few months the same problem of the belt falling off almost daily began again. By the time this was happening, our vacuum was out of warranty and now we're just out the money. I would recommend avoiding this model.

I was excited to be able to purchase an Oreck again. It is the only vacuum that I have found that helps control dog hair (Australian Shepherd). Things were going great until a couple weeks ago when the beater bar (?) stopped turning. I thought it was the belt because of the smell and the smoke. Upon taking it apart to replace the belt I discovered that the beater bar had become dislodged from the end and would no longer turn. I have reached out 2 times via email regarding this matter and no one seems to be able to contact me. I would like to know what Oreck plans to do about replacement. I received my Oreck XL on March 6, 2024. I'd like to be able to say I love my Oreck, which I do, but their customer service SUCKS!

Between usage, abuses and pet hair, they lost their suction strength and barely survived a few years. My brother, a lifelong Oreck owner finally convinced me to buy one. It is the only time I regret not listening to him. Great suction, easily maneuvered, and lightweight. Will forever be an Oreck owner!

With 2 dogs that shed I have fallen for the claims made by manufacturers of how great they work on pet hair. While the vacuums may do a good job, they are so heavy that I have trouble using them. My back pain makes it too painful to vacuum. The Oreck is truly the only vacuum that I can use without pain.
