Mega Brands - MEGA Brands - The Beatles Building Toy Kit with Lights (681 Pieces)

I LOVE this! The whole thing is extremely well thought out and took me eight hours to complete. All of the pieces in my example were crisply molded and had no flaws whatsoever. The instructions were very clear, easy to follow, and in the proper order (except that getting Ringo behind the drums required disassembling the drum kit and re-assembling it with him mounted on his drum stool). The details (mic and guitar cables, overhead drum mic, light towers, signature plaques, working lights) make this a very special set. I always thought this stage set from the Sullivan show was really something special and I love having it on display. (P.S. If I ever built it again I would substitute a longer USB cable for the short one included with the set. Once the base is assembled it's impossible to swap out the cable.)

Two of my favorite things, beatles and building with bricks. One thing I don't like is all the blue tiles. But that's not worth taking a star.

Such a cool project to watch come to life as you build it! This is definitely for 18 and older as it does come with hundreds of small pieces to build.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set is very high quality and detailed. The build itself represents the Beatles debut on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 which launched their legendary careers. This was a fun build and not too difficult. Each piece fits together and once built form a diorama of the great 1964 show. Along with the main stage sections comes figures of the four band members which have an excellent likeness for the size. Each of the members can be posed and can hold the instruments to make the diorama your own. Another neat detail of this kit is the lighting which after assembly can be triggered for some great effects. At the price with the quality and for what it represents this kit is great value and will likely be a future collectable. I enjoyed building this set and will continue to admire it on a shelf.

It was a good combination for us to team up on as I adore the Beatles and he just loves anything building or blocks. There's a lot of cool features in this set that sets it apart. The lights are a really cool touch. I love the cords to "plug in" to the guitars and microphones. I think the faces could have been a bit better as they look a bit shocked or scared. Maybe some Beatlemania is coming right at them?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My boys really enjoyed building this. It’s not to complicated even with the lights having to be routed through the blocks as you build it. The details is what really makes it though. Once built it looks like the real deal and once the lights turn on it’s that much better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mega block set is a harder built. Our daughter is excited to have a stage for her town full of megablock sets. Wiring the stage was a bit difficult for me. Kinda wish it was a little simplier. Some of the pieces would not connect properly causing it to keep coming apart. I noticed quite a few of the tops of the set are broken and that could be why it was hard to assemble.

We didn’t have any issues unless we dropped pieces on the floor! All pieces connected together well. Will likely take apart and glue together at some point.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, the detail in this set is incredible! It is well made and comes with John, Paul, George, and Ringo, and their instruments! The instruments aren’t attached to the figures so they can be used by all. It also has actual working lights! One thing I suggest if you’re giving this set to children is to show them clips of the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show so they can see the significance of it. We’re Beatles fans in our house, but I’d never shown them that clip until we got this set, and they thought it was really fascinating how we now have the toy that represents what happened in real life. We just started putting this set together over the weekend. While we’re still working on building the stage, my kids love playing with the figures and instruments and putting on a “pretend” concert. With almost 700 pieces, it is quite the project, but attempting it has been so much fun! I’ve enjoyed spending family time working on this instead of sitting in front of a television. This has been a nice alternative to electronics in our household! It says recommended for adults, and there are small pieces that could be choking hazards, but we are building it together as a family. I highly recommend it to fans of small blocks and Beatles fans! The pieces come in numbered bags and the figures already come assembled in their own bag! For being so small the details are really nice!

The blocks were not hard to handle. There were some parts that were a little confusing but most of all it was fun to complete.

My mother was 11 when she saw this very episode of the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, and she was so thrilled to see this! The lights, the camera, every little detail is such a thrill. An amazing tribute to the Beatles and the Ed Sullivan show!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The MEGA "Ladies and Gentlemen, The Beatles" building set is great for people who like to build and collect memorabilia, especially for rock and rock fans and/or Beatles fans. When opening the kit, I thought the box was easy to open and visually appealing. Inside the box, there are multiple numbered bags that have the blocks to build for that section. The instruction manual is also a memorabilia booklet with photos and information about the Beatles. Inside the manual, it has the instructions for each numbered bag to be able to easily put together the kit a section at a time. The cool thing about this kit is that it is interactive with actual stage lights that work and 4 collectible Beatles characters with instruments ( John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr). The kit includes 681 pieces, so it does take some time to build, but it a fun process to have!
