Good smartwatch, mediocre companion apps, confusing setup

I have been using Samsung Galaxy watches since the first one came out. The Galaxy Watch Ultra was too heavy and bulky and it was expensive so I started looking at alternatives. I mainly use my smartwatch to make it easier to receive notifications of texts, calls, and important emails. The health features are a nice to have, but not my main use. Even so, I like to monitor my heart health, sleep, and keep track of my activity and steps. I also wanted one that had a battery that could last more than a day. I could get about 60 hours of battery life on my Samsung watch, so I was looking for something that could at least come close to that. This seemed to fit the bill. After wearing it for a few days it seems to be fine for my needs, but with a number of issues. First the good. This watch is light and comfortable to wear. The screen is large and bright, and easy to read. The domed display makes it seem sharper and uses the face effectively. It responds quickly and is relatively intuitive to use. So far I have been able to get about 2 days battery life, but I don't use the always on display, and charging is very fast. The not so good. The attachment of the bands is terrible. It's easy enough to attach a band, but there's a little tiny button that has to be depressed to remove the bands to swap them out. Using old school bands with pins would be easier than this. I also don't like the silicone band that comes with the watch. even if I didn't have a reaction to wearing silicone, I've never liked a band that tucks under itself, the way this one does. Unfortunately, most of the 3rd party bands I have tried with this don't fit securely, with a number of them randomly falling off. I've never had this issue with any other watch, smart or otherwise, before this one. The band issue is made worse by the design. This large dome leaves the edges of the watch vulnerableto damage from wear. The fact that this has Corning Gorilla glass rather than the stronger Sapphire glass, makes that even more likely. As a result, a case and screen protector are critical for this. The aluminum case makes this lighter, but it's not as sturdy as the titanium case I'm used to. I would prefer a titanium case with a bezel protecting the screen. However, I decided I could live with this for more accurate metrics. The apps mostly work well, but one has to go to the Google Play Store on the watch and update all of them out of the box to get all the features to work properly. I didn't see anything about that in the setup information, but after searching online was able to figure it out. A number of features didn't work until I did that. It took a lot of frustrating playing around to finally get to this point. The ECG feature is useless unless you have AFIB, or if you have a resting heart rate lower than 40. I don't have AFIB, although I have occaisional PVCs, and a relatively low heart rate. As a result there is no useful information from the ECG app on this. The ECG feature on my last watch worked by creating an ECG chart that could be read by my cardiologist to be able to tell if there were any other arrythmias going on. From what I can tell, this doesn't generate an ECG graph. The other issue i that the FitBit app is not very useful, at least for me. I prefer to see all of my stats and make judgements based on those. The data it shows isn't very helpful or intuitive to find or use. This also doesn't seem to sync with my smartscale for body composition, so it can't include that information in any recommendations. I have the 6 month trial of FitBit premium that came with the watch, but I doubt I'll continue it after the trial and will stick with Samsung Health and Google Fit.

Easy to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: I love that I can track my type of exercise (ex: walking, running, swimming, strength training, yoga etc), calories burned, steps, track my heart rate, etc.. Can use the watch as a recorder which is nice for safety. I have mine connected to Bluetooth and can send messages and calls. I LOVE that I can use pandora for when I'm exercising. It charges so quickly! Cons: Pandora was a bit of work to get set up and does act weird but it works once you get the hang of it. I'd like to be able to connect other apps to it like messenger. Youtube music requires premium which makes it pointless for me. Overall I really like it. I'd like a bit more options for customization but it fits my needs as is.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really excellent display quality and long battery life with fast charging are the highlight points for Pixel Watch 4 that I have in hand to try. I personally love the design of this Pixel Watch 4 over other smart watches because of bigger and brighter screen and comfortable when wearing all day. The connection is very smooth even if I used the watch outside when running. Great water resistant even under raining weather. Overall, I am happy to wear Pixel Watch 4 everyday and pair it with casual or formal clothes. Highly recommend to everyone if you want something work great and looking cool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Google Pixel Watch 4 is an upgrade over the Google Pixel watch 3 in every way. With a louder speaker and longer battery life, as well as an upgraded repairable design. Yes you read that right repairable design with consumer repairability as one of the main focuses. In the box is 2 different sized bands, the watch face and a charger cable with attached watch dock as well as a quick start guide w easy to follow instructions. Connecting an android smart phone was extremely easy and fast. I have a samsung galaxy s24 ultra and it connected easily and with no issues at all.. Features a 360 degree clean and clear touch screen display and has tons of apps including upgraded exercise integration and upgraded sensors such as multiple path optical heart rate sensor, ECG capable electric sensors, spo2 oxygen sensor, improved skin temp sensor and a cEDA for stress tracking. One huge New one of a kind feature is Satellite SoS, which allows a user to contact emergency services if out of cellular or wifi coverage area this is the only smart watch that currently has that feature. The Google Pixel watch 4 can charge about half way in 15 minutes and fully charge in about 30 to 40 minutes and the charge will last about 15-24 hours depending on usage. I personally charge mine while showering and getting ready for the day and it last 24 hours til I charge it again with some charge to spare even. I am now a fan of the Google Pixel watch 4 after having the opportunity to test and review this courtesy of Google and Influenster and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an awesome and super functional smart watch.

Despite the larger screen size, the watch is incredibly lightweight—to the point where I barely feel it on my wrist during the day. The Highlights: Health Tracking: The heart rate monitoring and sleep analysis functions are highly accurate and have become essential tools for my daily routine. Utility Features: The 'Find My Phone' feature is a lifesaver, and surprisingly, the built-in flashlight is exceptionally useful for navigating at night. Battery Life: I’m consistently getting about 2.5 days of use on a single charge, which is a significant step up. Minor Drawbacks: The Band: The stock rubber strap can feel a bit itchy after long wear and isn't the most comfortable material. Because of this, I’m already considering switching to a metal link bracelet for a more premium and breathable feel. The Keyboard: While the display is beautiful, the keyboard remains very small, making it impractical for sending detailed messages. Overall, it's a powerful and reliable companion. Highly recommended for those in the Google ecosystem! 🚀

Everything you need in a watch

Customizing alerts is straightforward, and I like how flexible the notification settings are. Music controls automatically worked when connecting to my car or headphones, which was a nice surprise. The watch isn’t too heavy on the wrist and stays comfortable throughout the day. Battery life has been impressive and lasts longer than expected. The size is perfect for my wrist. My only real complaint is the text messaging setup. I can reply to texts from my preferred messaging app, but if I want to start a message from the watch by selecting a contact, it requires Google Messages, which I don’t use. Other than that, it’s been a great experience.

Wrist Computer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An awesome smart watch. I tested it with both a IPhone and a Samsung Galaxy phone and it works very well. Google supports multi systems which makes me this a great option for anyone, regardless of OS. I think the 45mm size is a little big for my wrist, but it looks great and is still super comfortable so I can’t complain. The battery lasts a long time, I got 2 days of use without a charge (no gps on, that might impact). Lots of useful apps and metrics, and easy to customize. Highly recommend.

Premium build quality with a beautiful, responsive

I was worried it might be too big, but it fits surprisingly well. The performance is snappy, apps load instantly, and the build quality feels premium and durable. Best workout watch!

It has helped me with my health journey to monitor my steps, heart rate, sleeping patterns, keep up with the weather, my calendar, it has a built in flash light, alarm clock, and so much more! The strap is very durable, and it is quite easy to set up and Bluetooth it to your device. Your notifications are spot on accurate and on time. It updates at its needed time.

Love it!!

Plus it keeps me on track while I am at work so I don't sit for extended periods. I do wish the screen was protected better by a bezel or something. It's perfect if you want a smartwatch that's both fashionable and useful, especially if you have an Android phone. The battery is amazing, It stayed charged for my entire work week! The GPS is way more accurate than my last smart watch. It’s comfortable not too bulky. The display is bright and crystal clear. I absolutely love this watch and would 100% recommend it!

Great way to track health and fitness

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product from Influenster and Pixel for testing and reviewing purposes The Google Pixel Watch 4 is awesome. It has a big clear screen that comes with a quick charge station and two size wrist bands. It was very simple to get put together just snaps right in but is super secure. I don't really wear watches but the band and watch are super comfortable. You can use tons of different android phones not just a pixel with the watch which is cool . It came with 6 months free of premium Fitbit subscription and it can track activity, health, sleep and so much more ! I love that you can leave your phone at home and the watch will work fine while you're out. This is a great watch for anyone who likes to track health and wellness or needs some more organization in their life.

Severe Skin itch, nonstandard band attachment, annoying Gemini

The metal in back side of the watch causes skin iritation/itching that made it impossible for me to continue wearing it. Most likely it was nickle allergy. I have been wearing Seiko watches with metal bands for 50+ years. Never had any skin issue. The bands are attached to the watch is a nonstandard manner that makes it difficult to attach/detach them. It also limits your options for replacement bands. The integration with Gemini is very annoying. It kept speaking something whenever I simply asked to snooze or stop an alarm. I returned it.
