Q: Is there any update to this product? I have been using this dispenser for over two years and have been facing the same problem of tap breaking and have no choice but to replace it with new one.

  • A: There is a quality issue with the valve. Same thing happened to mine in 5 months of use. Unacceptable. I also had to purchase a new container. The previous PUR dispenser I had lasted 10 years.

Q: Is it normal for the water to take 10 hours to filter? Or should the filtration process be happening much quicker? Not sure if this is a filter issue or its installed wrong?

  • A: Thank you for your questions. The PUR PPF951K Filter takes an average of approxiately 3-8 minutes to filter (15+ minutes for a dispenser). It sounds as though your filter may have become clogged. This may occur if bubbles or air pockets have become trapped in your filter. To help remedy this, we would first recommend removing the filter from your pitcher or dispenser. Once removed, please hold the filter upside down at a slight angle and shake it for 5-6 seconds before returning it to the upright position. With heavy use, this can happen in a very short period of time. This will also vary based on the quality of the water being filtered. We go through so many water bottles. I love that this is lightweight and not big and bulky for my refrigerator. It can hold up to 30 cups. I like there is a handle to pull to release the water also I like how it will let you know when to change the filter. The set up was easy to do. It does come with instructions and picture examples. The water is so refreshing and clean.

    Neat dispenser, questionable lid design

    I like the filter indicator light as it takes the task of remembering to replace the filter off your hands. The spout is smooth and fast at dispensing water. I had the basic model of this dispenser previously, only bought new one as the other was accidentally dropped, and I am concerned that the different lid construction is going to increase mold/mildew growth. The edge of the lid on the underside has a narrow space where the plastic side of the dispenser fits into it for a secure closure. I am concerned that this narrow space will trap moisture and be prone to mold/mildew and hard to clean. My previous model did not have this gap, but I would still notice spots of mildew even without it. Only time will tell if the is becomes a problem. Otherwise, using the Pur Plus filters (I appreciate the lead filtering) results in clean tasting water. It removes the chlorine taste from our tap water.

    It’s amazing fits in the fridge holds a lot of water. BUT… the filter after two weeks says 700 and something and it’s not filtering out anything in the water taste terrible. The filters are $38. That’s very expensive to have to replace them after such a short time very disappointed.

    Brita is garbage

    Garbage. The filter doesn’t filter at some points and leaves the container too heavy when you pull it out. It’s spilt water all over my kitchen twice. The second time it broke the brita. I just bought it. I’m done with brita.

    Slowest water filter imaginable.

    The filtering time is agonizingly slow. For example, when the reservoir is full, it takes overnight plus hours to filter. same for when its only filled halfway. For that reason, I wouldn't recommend this particular water filtration system. The Brita we had before this took some time to filter but nothing like this. The nozzle is nice and we like the water coming out of it but you really need to watch the filer level.

    Buy this if you like smelly fish water

    Water filtered through this product smells like fish when boiled. Blacks flecks from the filter will occassionally float around in the filter tank. This product won't do what you want it to.

    Bad filtration

    Product is nice and looks of great quality 10. The water filtered by this makes my stomach very upset, stomach cramps, acid problems and bloating . I don’t think it filters out all chemicals. I had to replace immediately with bottled water
