A: Great question! We recently reformulated our much loved Scalp Restore Shampoo to increase the benefits. The existing formula (Activated Charcoal + Tea Tree + Moringa Oil) was a dark green color. But our new formula which just hit Target shelves (Jojoba + Aloe + Niacinamide) is crystal clear. The smell is really nice and not irritating. Hair feels clean after while smelling amazing. Only thing I wish was different is the price of it...but finding the deals at Target helps a bit especially if you can get a giftcard w/the beauty purchase.

I scrub the scalp using a brush and let the lather run down the hair while rinsing. Scalp is so clean, itching gone and just clean smell. Once or twice a week I lather up the hair itself. Then goes the conditioner mixed with a little argan oil.

I use a lot of hair products and clarifying shampoos are a must. This came up in a search and because it was listed as a scalp product too, I purchased it. It does clarify both the scalp / hair which is exactly what I wanted. My hair was also left with a nice shine. Probably the best drugstore clarifying shampoo I’ve ever used, definitely as good as some salon clarifying shampoos.

I dislike the formula change. Perfect the charcoal before this. The new ingredient weighs my hair down so much. Oh my God, I thought I was going crazy when I bought this shampoo and used it the first time like, "wait, wasn't this a charcoal shampoo?" and I thought maybe there were multiple Scalp Restores so maybe I grabbed the wrong one... Now that it's almost empty, I went to go look for the OG I thought I was grabbing last time... only to see that it's been replaced! Nowhere to be found! Now it's this watery Jojoba Aloe formula and I haaate it!

I used the old Scalp Restore formula for years and loved it. I am so disappointed in this new formula, it used to be thick and go a long way, this new one is mostly water and requires way more product to get a good lather. After reading other reviews I’m scared to keep using it.

i love this shampoo and conditioner i've been using this for about 7 months and it's the only thing that keeps my oily hair under control. i can finally wash my hair every other day without feeling the need to wash it everyday! make sure you're getting the one for your hair type although.

Thee worst shampoo and conditioner I have ever used. They’re horrible. It made my roots feel like they were covered in a thick oil, so thick, I couldn’t even run my fingers through my hair. While my roots were extremely thick and greasy, the ends of my hair looked like brittle straw. I even tried to mix it with other shampoo/conditioner that I knew worked for me in an attempt to not waste two entire bottles but it was no match for this monstrosity. If I could give zero stars I would but since I have to give one, I’ll say it’s for the smell. The sole thing positive note is the products have a pleasant smell.
