Resin Pouring Trinket Dish - Mondo Llama™: DIY Art Kit with Glitter & Instructions for Adults

It’s a lovely set. The results were great. First my daughter (8yo) did it with help. The second shape she did it by herself, it’s really easy. After we purchased another set 🫶🏼

This is my second resin kit from Mondo Llama (the first was the ocean coasters). The first kit didn’t include measurement markings for mixing, so I had to guess and it didn’t cure. This kit thankfully had markings, but the instructions are still confusing. They even suggest washing the cups/tools in the sink, which would be a sticky mess! Tip: you’ll need more mica powder than the instructions suggest unless you want the colors to be very translucent.

Gave this to my husband and 7yo as a joint Father’s Day gift, and they had a blast doing it. The trinket containers are larger than I was expecting and the colors are vivid (great amount of glitter included too). My husband works with resin a lot so this was not a challenge for him, but it was good experience for our daughter. The molds are surprisingly good quality so I’m sure we will use them again for gifts for her friends. Very pleased with this project!

Resin doesn’t fully cure and was a waste of money.

The instructions on this said to "clean up the cups using soap and water so you can use them again". This was an awful idea. The resin isn't water soluble, so it made a huge mess of my sink during cleanup (and I'm scared to think what it might have done to my plumbing). I found that isopropyl alcohol did a decent job of cleaning up the residue, but had to escalate to lacquer thinner to get the resin off many items. Add to that, the resin is filled with glitter, so the residue is really persistent. Overall, I spent almost an hour cleaning this junk from my sink and everything I touched on the way during cleanup. My hands are still sticky with a resin film as I type this. Bottom line, fun kit, but ignore the suggestion to clean up the cups. Either let the resin cure in the bottom of the cups, or pitch them straight in the trash.

You’re supposed to wash with soap and water but it’s not water soluble so makes a huge mess in the sink.

The mica powder that gives the resin its color says "less is more" in the instructions. However, my first time working with mica powder in the Ocean kit was a learning experience. The color appeared well mixed in the cup but when poured, the color was lighter than expected and dried more translucent. Less was definitely not more, so I made sure to saturate the color this time and used a slightly darker pigmented mica powder that I had leftover from another project. Overall satisfied with this summer craft project.

Doesn't work, don't buy. It stays sticky and never fully hardens. The positive reviews are paid reviews and they're showing they have the box but not that they made it. The gloves included are huge and hard to use. We ended up with resin everywhere and two sticky trays.

I like how this craft kit turns out. It gives you alot of different options for colors. Allow the resin to dry for a full 24 hours on a level surface.

Negligence is providing little to no warnings or instructions for cleaning. No specific cleaning instructions. Just a "Helpful Hint: Clean your measuring and mixing cups with soap and water, so you can reuse them to create another tinket tray." Are you actually kidding me?! That's it? My child took precautions with wearing gloves and apron and putting newspaper down on the crafting area. But no mention of needing to protect anything else while cleaning up. This is negligence on Target's part.

A really fun and quick craft to do. I skipped the color powders and just did the glitter mix ins.

Even after following the directions TWICE the resin never dried. We waited over a week and it was still wet.

got this as a gift. it was my first time working with resin and i thought the instructions would tell me everything i needed to know. i couldn't even finish making 1 tray because the resin hardened in the cups. the instructions didn't say anything about how the resin heats up and said to let the resin sit for 5 minutes after mixing it with pigments. the resin got so hot that it started to melt the cups, because the cups are extremely small. don't get this if you've never made anything with resin before and definitely don't make it with small children because it may be dangerous.

no enough for two trays! it literally gives you two trays to do with all the other ingredients and it doesn’t give you enough resin to fill two trays. honestly disappointed.

Our first tray turned out beautifully, but there was just not enough left to do the second. One ounce more would have made this project successful, it's pretty disappointing, to be honest. We measured meticulously. Is there any way we can get more resin from you to finish it off?

I saved up my own money ths year and put it in a target giftcard i found. When I saw this it really exited me. I thought it would be a cool resin trinket tray to put my jewelery but no. when I got home immediantly got to work. t was fun and easy to mix the colors but it was really messy and the drections werent that clear. The last drection said to wait 24 hours to dry. I waited 24 hours and still not dry and my mom even cut herself on it and even after 3 days it still wasn't dry and when i thought it was dry enough it stuck to my dresser and not only left a stain but one we took some of the paint off of my dressor ant two IT DIDNT COME OFF! Also there was barely enough resin for ONE tray. So all in all, don't buy this even coming from a nine year old kid you can get somthing way better for alot less.

My 11 year old daughter loved this kit. It was really simple to understand and complete together. The trays turned out super cute and seem to be high quality. Great gift!

Made these with my 7 yo and after letting it dry for 24 hrs it was still mushy so we waited another 12 hrs before checking again. And still to this day(2 weeks later) it’s mushy.

Really cool and beautiful yet, they never dry and stay sticky. Been “drying” over a week and I’m pretty sure they’ll end up trash because they are unusable as dishes and can’t even be touched. We followed directions correctly.
