A: A 5 lb. bag or flour can equal 15 19 cup. it does say it is freezer safe. Flour is safe to freeze two years, if stored properly in a container, in a fridge freezer or longer in a chest freezer - 0. Info found on the internet. I have stored flour in the freezer myself, do not just throw the bag in, use a large baggie or container.

Q: How do you wash them? Are they dishwasher safe, and in particular, does the gasket come out easily? I find that some of these products get food under the rubber gasket.

Q: Many reviews complain about loss of suction after microwaving. I only want cannisters for flour, sugar, etc. Has anyone had problems with the seals/suction when using only as cannisters ?

If you are going for a minimalist look, this container is great. My laundry powder comes in a resealable pouch, but we all know how that goes. I would say this one performed just as well, but would be better for someone who is looking for something that is more durable for on the go eating and food storage. It’s lightweight but still offers the same benefits of being leakproof, stain resistant, and odor resistant. It may not be the best container for someone with fine motor issues or someone with more frail hands because the lid is very snug!!

It's made exactly line the glass container just like it, but it's made of plastic instead. I'd definitely buy this container again! The clasps on the lid help you from losing it amongst your other plastic container lids, like most of us do! I highly recommend these to everyone! You can store just about anything in these, and of you drop it, yippee not going to break it!

While I wouldn’t put this in the microwave (only true limitation in my opinion) for those who aren’t as concerned with only using glass this would be a great choice.

Now that I’ve had time to use this product I will let you know how impressed I am by this new Rubbermaid Brilliance collection. I’ve probably washed this plastic Rubbermaid about 20 times already because my boyfriend loves to use it as a dish for all of his meals. However, he (& I) love how this container keeps all the food fresh and really seals it in. It is also super convenient to use in the microwave and easy to clean. For the price, I give it 5 stars because you can’t beat the durability and quality of this product.
