Q: Help cup is leaking. No dents around the cup and there is suction. Should I get regular size

submitted by Kayla - 6 years ago

    submitted bymmaddie27 - 6 years ago
  • A: Hi. I've noticed that if I have leaking problems it could be two things, not suctioned properly or the cup is full. I know for days 1 and 2 I need to empty the cup every 2-3 hours or I start leaking.

submitted byecofriendlygirl - 1 year ago
  • A: Not a fan, I keep leaking no matter how many times I fix it or move it. I thought it was going to be easier than tampons.

Q: I’ve never had kids but I have a high cervix. What size should I get?

submitted by Valentine - 7 years ago
  • A: The height of the cervix does matter because the smaller and/or shorter cups can move and get stuck or 'snug' near a high cervix. The smaller size may cause aggravation when you need to remove it....you may need to bear down and squat a lot while removing a size small cup. (Remember to pinch the base/bottom of the cup and don't 'yank' the stem when you remove.) I would say get the size regular for a high cervix plus normal or heavy flow. You could get the small size if your flow is very light and you don't mind 'going fishing' for the cup. (I am a beginner with cups so don't quote me on this... I heard a lot of personal stories about smaller cups being hard to remove. They don't always sit near the opening, and in many people's experience they will move up when exercising and sleeping. Some people use two different size cups for different phases of the menstrual period or one size for sleeping and another for exercising or heavy days. I wish there was a definitive final answer for those who don't know what size to get, but everyone's bodies are different. I say research the reviews, and decide based on cup dimensions and your personal flow.

submitted byAcidWashDenimConnoisseur - 6 years ago
  • A: Most brands do sell a different size for women who have given birth and for women who have not, but this brand's sizes work differently. The sizes for this particular brand are based on capacity. I feel like selling one for light to medium flow and medium to heavy flow is just marketing - why would anyone choose one that held less? Anyway, the height of your cervix doesn't matter for menstrual cups because it will sit very close to the vaginal opening. I've been using them for 11 years and I would never go back.

Q: How much does it hold? Mine is full after 3 hrs. I have very heavy flows and am trying to find one that might hold more.

submitted by JPlotner3 - 1 year ago
  • A: I have heavy flows on day 1 and 2 and have to empty every 2-3 hours.

submitted byecofriendlygirl - 1 year ago

Q: I have a low cervix but I have a super heavy flow with clotting, too. What size should I get?

submitted by Angryparent - 2 years ago
  • A: If you have a low cervix the Small Cup would be our recommendation but you will need to empty it more frequently. You may also want to consider a small disc which holds more capacity and can be a more comfortable option for a lower cervix.

Q: Sincen when do they sell these cups in stores? ive never heard of them? do they hold the menstrual blood? do you empty the cup in the toilet? i just dont get it! How do they stop from spilling?

submitted by julie - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Julie, thank you so much for your question. We have been on shelves in Target since 2019! Saalt Cups collect menstrual flow rather than absorb like a traditional tampon. The Saalt Cup sits in the vaginal canal, below the cervix. When positioned properly, you won't even notice it's there. Once inserted, it molds to your internal shape so you can comfortably wear it all day or night, leak-free.If you have more specific questions, please reach out to our support team at sayhey@saalt.com!

Tore after 3 months

Very disappointed in this product. I had a different period cup for years and eventually needed to replace it. Unfortunately that company no longer ships to the US so I started looking for a different brand. I decided to try this one since it was available in person. My initial impression was that it's okay, it's more firm than my previous cup which I don't like because I find it uncomfortable but I understand people have different preferences. The deal breaker is that I've only had it for a few months and it already has a tear in it meaning I can no longer use it. The whole point of a product like this is to be able to use it for a long time so I'm very disappointed especially since my previous one lasted for many years.

I've used cups for years and have never had an issue. I decided to try this brand and I'm so disappointed in it. it leaks massively. No matter how hard i try to position it perfectly. And it's not just a little leakage here and there, it's a pretty big deal everytime it happens.

My Review for the Saalt Cup

It works great! My very first menstural cup and it fits like a glove. I appreciated the little instruction packet as well as the nice baggie it came in. Definitely a purchase I don't regret so far. :)

The best cup out there

I have dried a few brands of cup and this one has been the most reliable. Other brands tend to leak but this one is great, even at the gym!

I love my cup and

I love my cup and I’m so happy I switched. There’s definitely a learning curve at the beginning but once you get the hang of it it’s great. It’s super convenient because it lasts 12 hours and it’s small enough to travel on the go.

To firm and no grip

This cup is way too firm and hard to squeeze to take out. And the stem had no grip creating more problems

Not a fan

I had a 3rd degree tear during my last child’s birth, and was hoping this would work but my pelvic floor was not strong enough to hold it in. The removal was painless IF you break the seal first, by pinching the cup like the directions tell you too, and I was leak free for 12 hours, I just couldn’t keep it in, so I felt the removal tip all day, very thick and quality item though!

It got STUCK TWICE.

Not easy to remove Not easy to insert I had to get my husband to help me get it out. I’ve used menstrual cups for 8 years and this was wild. The bag it comes with is super linty too so that’s annoying. I will say I did not leak unless very full. But the terror of not being able to remove your menstrual cup isn’t worth it. It’s going in the trash.

Traumatized!

Mine didn't leak, but I couldn't get it out! I had my cup in about 20 hours. I tried to get it out several times following all the instructions I read online. Finally, I decided to try one more time before going to urgent care. I was able to pull it out by the tab even though I wasn't supposed to. I could not reach to break the seal. It kept sliding around whenever I tried. I'm done with menstrual cups for life!

Too big still

It does not fit…. I got the smaller one folded it up like the instructions said but it literally does not fit inside me. Maybe once I’m sexually active it’ll be better… I use super tampons so I assumed it would work. I’m keeping it to use later.

Great Menstrual Cup

I've bought this cup before, and it lasted me years before the little grip tip broke off. I was definitely removing it wrong that time, but I liked the cup so much that I decided to get a new one. I like the little bag that it comes with, so I can put it in my purse for on the go.

This is the most comfortable period product I have ever used. In particular, it has enabled me to continue fitness training while on my period! I am a runner and this is game changing for me. It stays in place, I promise. Thank goodness for Saalt!!

Do yourself a favor and avoid this product.

I would like to note that I am an experience menstrual cup user. Started leaking within the first hour on the first time. I removed cup, which was difficult, to adjust. Leaked once again within the next hour. I had to adjust again. This time when I attempted to remove, the cup had tilted and was further in. It was extremely difficult to remove as I couldn’t reach to break the seal nor could I grab the stem to attempt to pull out.

HORRIBLE PRODUCT

If I could give this negative stars I would. First off, the product is extremely hard in feel and minimal flexibility to get it. Second, this product literally suctioned to my cervix and I had to go to the ER to get it removed because the the suction was so tight. I spent $350 AFTER insurance to have this removed. Buy at your own risk.

Finally a cup that doesn't leak!

This menstrual cup is such a game changer for me. I've tried other cups and also discs and they always leak. Not the saalt cup! This is fantastic. I'm so happy with my purchase.
