Q: how is this product used?
submitted by b - 6 months ago
A: Hi! To use the menstrual cup, form a "U" shape by flattening the ends together and gently insert inside, then rotate the base of the cup to provide suction and seal. Hope this helps!

Terrible product
Worst cup I've ever used! I've used many cups over the years and this one is actually PAINFUL. The tip that you use to pull it out has harsh edges that catch and pinch and poke. DO NOT BUY

Menstrual Cup size 2
It’s good quality, thick silicone. I hate lots of pain when I first inserted it. Figured inserted it wrong, tried the second day. It was better. I’m sure it’s just too big, it very bulky and thick. I have a heavy flow so I figured the get a size two. Nope! I can’t even use the thing. It was a waste of money because I can use it. Other than that, it’s a fine product. Know your size, or you be wasting money.

Perfect if you want to rip yourself in half
HORRIBLE!!! It hurt to put in, and hurt even worse to take out. What a waste of money.

Uncomfortable
The stem of the cup is very uncomfortable. I tried adjusting it in different ways but, I could still feel the stem. I really wanted it to work :(

Prone to buildup
Prone to buildup and stains. Also the stem of it is hollow... so... there's no way to keep grossness out or clean it out well...

Longer cord,pull string PLEASE!
I love the product. Works great. Every time I use it I have to "fish it out" and I can barely get the string end with my fingernails. Please consider making the string longer, it would help with this process

Life Changing
Absolutely life changing for periods. It did take some time to learn and get used to. I also had to cut the stem as it was very uncomfortable. Now I love love love it!

First-timer turned Menstrual-Cupper ;)
First time using a menstrual cup after doing tampons + liners for years. I’m 37, but got Size 1 to try it out. Put it in this morning around 9am, 12 hours later I was so impressed to see there was barely anything on my pantyliner, especially when I removed the cup to find it full to the 20-ml line! Made me a fan, I’m never going back to tampons! Now to figure out what to do with the box of them I still have in my bathroom cabinet 🙃 Also, my second time putting it back in after rinsing felt waaay better than my first, so don’t give up if at first it doesn’t feel as comfortable as you’d want. Just adjust the next try. For me, I didn’t have it inserted as high as I needed initially. Thanks for a great product, Honey Pot 🩵

Hollow pull tab traps blood/clots
The pull tab at the bottom is hollow, so blood/small clots always get stuck within and it's a pain to clean it out in between uses. Poor design.

Tricky Cup
I’ve tried Diva Cup , Saalt and Honey Pot and this one I liked the least. Positioning it correctly and comfortable is trickier than with the other brands. It works, but I won’t be buying another one of these.

VERY uncomfortable
I wanted to try this out, to see which cup I would get. I was done with tampons, as tampons would make me sore after a while. I started my cycle and on the 1st day, I inserted the cup, I got it into position, but felt it shifting? Not sure if that was correct or not for it to be doing my that. So I took it out, and washed it. And tried again. I couldn’t stand that I could feel the stem whilst I was moving or sitting. I also had a hard time trying to remove it. If you’re going to get a cup, I would advise trying out the flex disc. The flex disc actually helped with my cramping. Won’t be using the cup again. I am a little disappointed that it didn’t work for me and that it was so uncomfortable.

Inaccurate sizing
Sizing is wrong, cup is larger than described to the point of being painful. Material is also very firm, not comfortable at all. Would not recommend this brand.

It RUBS
This was my first time trying a cup that didn’t have a loop, it’s just a stub that you can trim, and it’s AWFUL. It pokes and jabs and rubs in so many places… and every-time I cough, it slides around.

2nd time buying this
Cups have absolutely changed my life. I have a heavy heavy period (I empty my cup 3 times a day on my heavy days and still have a pad just in case). I used overnight pads every day and would have to switch them out every couple of hours and I would leak every time. I didn't own a pair of panties, shorts or bedsheets that had not been stained from leaking. Tampons are a joke on my heavy days. This has lessened my anxiety about my period, I can sleep at another person's house without a crisis and I can live my life without spending hours in the bathroom cleaning up after a bad leak.

Painful & Unable to Urinate
I ordered size 2 based on recommendations since I had a baby over a year ago and it is way too big. The cup is very firm and was difficult & painful to insert. And when it was in, I was unable to pee! I had to remove the cup completely to go the bathroom. I will be switching brands as I’ve used other menstrual cups in the past without these issues.

Not a good fit for me
I was a DivaCup user for about 4 years prior to having a baby. Never had issues - no leaks, easy to place and remove, comfortable to wear. I loved using a menstrual cup for the convenience and sustainability factor. After childbirth my DivaCup no longer fit (it would just fall out of me) so I decided to buy this cup, which was supposed to work for heavy periods, “older” women (I’m in my late 30s), and post-pregnancy. I liked the red color (my clear DivaCup stained horribly) and price point, and am happy to support Black-owned businesses. Unfortunately the cup is too large for me, as my cervix sits much lower after a baby (despite doing pelvic floor PT) and this cup protrudes uncomfortably. The material seems to be the right softness/firmness and it appears well designed, albeit with a rather long stem (I’ve never found the stem necessary for retrieval and wish cups didn’t have them, but that’s me). I wish the dimensions (length and capacity, not just rim diameter) were readily available as I probably could have realized this wouldn’t work for me and avoided a disappointing purchase. Overall it seems like a good menstrual cup and the price point is hard to beat, it just didn’t work for me.

Not worth it
I've had other cups and had no problems. This one HURTS. The stem is designed with hard edges that rub and irritate to the point of getting cramps and needing to remove it immediately. I hesitated because of the lower price point but when I read reviews I figured it was worth a chance. All of HoneyPots' other products are fantastic. For this they need to do better!
