Saalt Reusable Menstrual Disc

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm sure I must have the wrong size or be doing it wrong, but it leaked a lot, despite removing and re-inserting multiple times, each time it leaked significantly. I used to use a mooncup, and this never happened.

I Tried everything before calling my OB for help. I did use it for the rest of that period cycle but never found removing it to be easy. I may try the cup and have better luck with the stem.

It fits well, and it’s comfortable. I really wish it had a stem to pull it out, like the Lumma disc. Because it fits so well, it is so difficult for me to get it out. The notch to help pull it down doesn’t give me enough leverage, and I have to just stick my finger up into the rim and pull down, which is messy and hard to do, since I have a very high cervix. If customers don’t like the stem, they have the option of cutting it. I find myself wanting to use this disc, but choosing the Lumma instead, even though it’s not as comfortable because it is such a nightmare and takes so long for me to remove this Saalt disc. I hope a stem is on the future. Keep the material, size, firmness, everything, but please add a stem!!

However, when push came to shove during my real cycle, I wasn't able to get it out / over my pelvic bone. I had to wait for my ex to come over to help pull it out (so glad he and I are still friends). It's easy to wash. The silicone is nice for someone avoiding plastic, like myself. The hook is okay, but I wish it was easier to pull out having a longer pelvic bone. Something that you could get your finger through like a loop.

Not having to get up multiple times in the night to change my tampon and pad has been a game changer. Not to mention, great for the environment and saves so much money on pads and tampons over time. Very comfortable and can’t even feel it in. The auto dumping is another great feature as I don’t have to empty my disc as often as it does it it’s self when I go to the toilet. Was a little bit fiddly to figure out at first, but didn’t take long to figure out how to put it in. Definitely figure out where you cervix is before trying to insert it for the first time. The removal notch is sometimes a bit slippery to grab hold of, despite having grips, but I have always been able to move it about to grab it properly. Overall this little disc is AMAZING and I wish I had got it sooner.

On other days that are lighter, it works better. I was having trouble with my cup staying up postpartum after both children, so this does work much better than the cup. Just wish it was easier to position and more reliable.

As someone who has tried using discs and cups before and never been happy, the small saalt disc is a game changer. I have always struggled with things feeling too big, popping out or leaking, but I no longer have this problem!

Watched videos & read articles, people were liking the product. I got it, bled straight through it, it didn’t catch any blood, repositioned it, it would come out of place, repositioned it, bled through again, watched more videos, repositioned it. I tried for several days & gave up. Might be for some not for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second one so I’ll always have a clean one on hand. So convenient and easy to use. I don’t want to use anything else, my only minor issue is while I love the Saalt logo it makes it harder to clean and I feel it traps stains more. I love the wash and use the steamer as well.
