Softdisc (formerly Instead Softcup) is the leak-proof, swim-proof, sleep-proof alternative to tampons, pads, and menstrual cups. Easy-to-use and comfortable to wear, Softdisc gives you 12 hours of freedom during your period. Softdisc catches fluid at the base of the cervix naturally eliminating menstrual odor and preventing irritation and dryness. Softdisc can be comfortably worn overnight, during exercise, and even during intercourse. Hypoallergenic and free of phthalates, BPA and natural latex, Softdisc is safe to wear for 12 hours and is not linked to TSS. Designed to work for both heavy and light periods, Softdisc holds the equivalent of 5 tampons and comes with discreet bags for on-the-go disposal.
Ladies...we all hate shoving an itchy, dry tampon up there.
Do your body a favor and use a product that DOESN'T cause irritation.
I love this product because it goes in easily, I cannot feel it (it sits around your cervix, there are fewer nerve endings around the base of this part), and I can use it for 12 hours then take it out in the shower and toss it without it dripping everywhere.
I was excited to try this because this would be an alternative to pads since I am sensitive in some way. I usually get cramps during my period and have heavy days. This disc didn’t prevent leaking (maybe the way I put it in is incorrect), but I am happy that I don’t have to worry much about the cramps. Because of the leakage, I still have to wear pads to not mess myself up. Speaking of mess, I make sure to carry gloves every time to dispose of the disc easier, especially in public. I will give it another try when the next one comes
I usually buy Flex discs (for about the last year), but when I went to my local Target, they were not in stock. I figured this item would be pretty similar. Not at all. Despite looking incredibly similar these were harder to actually get in place and stay put. I would have to adjust it constantly and even slight movements could reposition it. And it leaked every single time, despite constantly messing with it. Super frustrating. Next time Flex isn’t in stock I’ll just buy regular tampons.
Gave these a shot after hearing good things...and they are definitely not for me. Didn't stay put and I was constantly adjusting. Leakage problems, didn't dimish crampy as advertised...all in all, not a pleasant experience.
Started using after my girlfriend recommended them lol. My only complaint (but doesn't mean it doesn't still deserve 5 stars) is that the pack is so small... gimme a 20-30 pack! lol. Definitely easy to use (after watching the softdisc youtube video lol) and love that I don't have to think about anything for 12 whole hours! Highly recommend using these.
I used to use flex cups but these are cheaper. I tried to use Diva Cups, but I can feel them and they're too big for me to put in correctly and stick my finger in there to make sure its opened up all the way. This is easy to insert, stays in place and holds a lot. I have a light period anyways, which makes this way better than trying to remove a dry tampon . Ouch
I really, really wanted these to work for me. My friend recommended them as an "in between" step to a cup. So, long story short, they never really "caught" any real amounts of fluid for me. Every time I used the bathroom, I would hear it either pouring out or unblocking or something, but idk, I still had to use a pad as back up. I will say that it reduced my cramping and totally increased my comfort compared to tampons, hands down. Unfortunately, I just don't think it's the right shape/style for me. I feel more protected with my Saalt cup. BUT My friends swear by it, so it's worth a try if you're interested in the concept!
Stoked to have found these! I've been wanting to try another option besides tampons or pads but have been hesitant about a cup. These are easy to use and I haven't had any issues with leakage. It is comfortable and I feel less icky while on my period. Highly recommend.
