Q: Do I have to buy soft discs for this product m? If so what brand works best?

submitted by Knox rose sweaters - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi there, The Soft Duo pack comes with a size Regular & Small. Most people can use both sizes, the small for lighter days and the regular for heavier days, but one size may be more comfortable. In general, we recommend the size small if you are a first-time cup user, have a light flow, or have a low cervix. We recommend the size regular if you have a heavier flow or a higher cervix.

Super Effective but they make cramps so much worse (maybe just me but worth noting)

I started using these when I was sixteen, and the first time I put one in was the first time I noticed cramps. I still use it and love it, but I can still tell the difference between when I have a cup in and when I have a tampon in based on cramps. The weird thing is that I don't feel it as much as I do for tampons. I'd still recommend it, but be aware that cramping could get worse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] comes with a learning curve but comfortable once i get the hang. regular size though is not enough for a heavy flow for more than a few hours so i now go back to tampons during those days.

First time using it took me a few try’s to get it right, but by day 2 I had it solved and now I can get it right the first attempt! I’ve only used the small one, I figured it would be easier to get used to before I needed to use the big one. I haven’t had to remove and empty in a public bathroom yet, that’s been my biggest concern on how to handle it but with how it’s going at home I think I’ll be just fine. I’m glad I got the double pack since my flows vary greatly cycle to cycle. I’m glad I made the switch to cups, it’ll make being prepared so much easier!

After the initial learning curve, I am so happy I made the switch from pads and tampons to a menstrual cup! I love going 12 hours between changes (just morning and night!) and I have less cramping while using the cup compared to tampons. I’ve happened to have my period while traveling several times this year and it has been so great to not have to worry about packing supplies and finding a bathroom every few hours. I can imagine ever going back!

If you’re debating on this Just get it!!!!!! I was so hesitant to use a cup over tampons/pads but I’ve been trying to use healthier products for my body and these are WAY better for you then tampons but not only that they don’t leak at all once you get used to it (took me 2-3 cycles before I had zero leaks though but a small liner was great until then) even the first and second cycle I had way less leaks than I had with a tampon though so I was still thrilled from the get go PLUS I also don’t cramp as much and I have heavy periods and still only change this out once a day instead of every time I use the bathroom like I did with tampons. I used to HATE my period but now it honestly doesn’t bother me at all especially cause I only deal with changing it at home and no rushing to the bathroom in public cause I feel it leaking! It’s weird at first though but promise it’s worth it.

I’ve never used cups before

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve never used cups before and thought that I’d get the double pack to see which one suited me better. Both of them were comfortable to insert and wear which was a huge plus for me because penetration of any sort tends to be painful for me. I have a heavy flow, so I ended up using the larger cup regularly. The first time I wore the small one I ended up leaking through it in the same amount of time as I do a super plus tampon (1 1/2- 2 hours). It worked great on my lighter days though. I think I’ll switch over 100% to cups for my next period.

Never using tampons again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The saalt menstrual cup is so easy to use and it went much better than I had anticipated. I have heavy cramping my first day or two, so I still cannot use the cup for those two days, but it’s incredible when they lighten up. I’m never going to use another tampon again.

Soft cups are great - need low cervix option!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a first time cup user, I did a good bit of research and review reading. Saalt products and company values are wonderful. The soft cups were comfortable and seem like they will last a long time. No staining after 1 cycle. However, after having two kids, I really need a low cervix option and just had to order from another brand. I like the large cup, but it always feels like it is sticking out. Small cup wasn't the right fit. I managed to "flip" the large cup inside out. It worked, but then doesn't open as easily and you loose the grips for removal. Please consider a low cervix model, Saalt!

My first cup was Diva and I hated it. I tried this brand as a last resort to not use disposable products and this worked better for me. I like the “bell” shape more than the pointed (diva) because it doesn’t seem to shift as much and break the seal. The dual pack is nice to see what fits your body. I wouldn’t strictly go by pre/post pregnancy on the fitting guide

Loved the softer cups since the original is a little too hard. However, with the softer cups, it’s a little more difficult to get it to pop open and “seal”. You get used to it though so you can tell if it’s good to go or not. I have never had kids but I still use both cups, I usually use the bigger cup the first 2-3 days and end with the smaller cup the last 3 days. Recently the stem on my small cup broke so I just ordered another small soft cup. The cup says it lasts for 10 years, however, I’ve had the cup since September 21, 2021 (so less than two years). I’m pretty strict about washing it after use and keeping it in the little bag so I’m not sure why the stem broke. I ordered the purple since it’s the darkest color, but I hope they make even darker colors for the small soft cup. Debating on trying the disc but not sure if I want to venture out and try something new since the cup seems to work fine for me.
