[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to like this gate, but it just did not work out for me. It has a sleek look and is made of quality materials. But in order to secure the gate in place, you must first screw 4 wall cups into your wall or door frame. And I am not willing to damage my wall to use this gate. Also the lever is a little difficult to adjust and lock into place. This gate may work great for some people, but it was a miss for me. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a super cute gate! It seems to hold up well to my 22 month old as well. We installed this in our entryway to block off our sunporch. I made my husband install it (LOL) and he definitely struggled to figure it out and had to refer to the instructions (that’s a first haha). But once he figured it out he had no trouble installing it. The wood makes it a little tricky to adjust, but it’s worth not having ugly plastic. FYI - I received this product from Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the bamboo and black look. It’s an aesthetically pleasing gate. It is challenging to set up and not the gate for you if you need to move it around a lot. Our 18 month old started putting her foot on the middle brace to climb over it, so be mindful that the bar is not on the side the child would be on. It did keep our dog out well. We used it at the top of our porch outside to keep the dog on the porch and also various doorways in the house to contain the baby. I prefer a gate that has a pass through opening/lock for ease of adults and older kids getting through, but if you need something to stay in one place and have no problem stepping over it, this gate would work for you. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using this gate for a few days to try to keep my toddler away from the dogs, I am not impressed. I will say the gate looks really nice and I had high hopes for it. However, it is very flimsy. Even when installed correctly, my toddler was able to take it down easily. It may work for a younger baby who wouldn’t be tugging on it or a small dog but it didn’t work for us unfortunately. I was given this gate to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The gate feels sturdy and well built, but I suspect that its mechanism will mean that it's useful to a limited audience. The gate is pressure mounted and feels very secure, but requires releasing the pressure completely in order to open it. I think it's more accurate to identify this as a "temporary door" rather than a gate. You'll need to use two hands to re-secure the gate (one hand can be used to open it, if you don't need to close it behind you) which is a burden. You may also need to re-align the gate to some degree when closing it, as releasing the pressure to open it will cause it to shift some. The gate's height does make it easy enough for an adult to walk over, assuming they are at least relatively steady on their feet. I believe this gate would be most beneficial if setup in a place that adults regularly need access to, and that dogs/small children never or rarely need access to - since it takes a bit more effort to open/close than other types of baby gates. Though the gate's height may be advantageous in some situations, I also believe the short height will make it tempting for some dogs and small children or toddlers to be inclined to climb or jump over it. Overall this isn't the right gate for our household. We'll instead look for a pressure-mounted gate that will stay in place and allow for one-handed opening and closing. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the Safety 1st Bamboo Doorway Gate and I was so relieved to install it at the top of our stairs. The design was beautiful, matching the lighter wood interior of our home. The gate was incredibly easy to install by myself and the installation took almost no time at all. As a parent of a young toddler, this gate has given me reassurance and peace of mind that our daughter will not be able to navigate the stairs without our presence. It unfortunately did not work well for our space because our home has really high baseboards and this prevents the tension system from working properly. The gate itself is a little flimsy and it took some time to figure out how the gate actually worked but I could see it being a good option for a smaller space if you had a spot where the entire wall was even from top to bottom. I personally wouldn't feel 100% safe having this at the top of the stairs because of the tension system making me a little nervous of it's actual strength, but it did seem sturdy enough to work for maybe blocking a baby or pet out of a particular room or something like that.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve owned many baby gates over the years, for dogs and kids, and this baby gate is the most reliable and simple of them all. It fits easily in doorways (but too small for most of my hallways/walkways) and is simple to put up and take down. I like that we can step over it as needed to move about the house. It’s sturdy enough to keep kids and pets safely out of unsafe spaces, and it looks sleek to boot. Highly recommend. My first observation was how light it was, and I thought it would be so easy to move it around! But. The words “pressure mounted” meant something different than I realized. This is a semi-permanent gate, with caps stuck and screwed to the door jambs. With what comes in the box, you won’t be moving it around. It’s also fairly flimsy so if you have a rough and tumble kid, it may not be for you. We used it on a bedroom door so that during playtime he can see out but still be contained. It is easy to mount and open/shut, so stars for that. It’s also not a bad look as gates go, so if you have one location needed and a budget, this may be the gate for you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel, but this is my honest opinion. The gate is very sturdy and well constructed. I have a similar wooden gate but this one I noticed is much more sturdy. On the metal part that you push down to put it in place, the metal is actually curved so it essentially locks into place. That is an upgraded design from older wooden gates in my opinion, and I like it but I also dislike it. It's good because it means the gate is not going anywhere, even if a toddler yanks on it back and forth, but it also means you need to be careful when you are setting it up so that you do not pinch your hand. I did that and it hurt, of course. I'm not sure if I like or dislike the color design of wood and black. Maybe if the black was instead a beige to kind of match the wood, then it would look nicer and not be so noticeable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we moved to a new house, we went from no stairs to a big staircase, which concerned me for my very mobile 18month old. I was given this safety gate to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel just in time. My husband and I were able put it up in no time. Safety provides stickies for that hold the supports in place while you drill them in the wall, which made installing so quick. And it’s so easy to take it off and on after you have those supports in. I also really appreciate the bamboo design with the modern looking gate. It’s still very much a safety gate, but it looks pretty good.

This gate is light weight which makes it easy to move around the house and easy to install. I have used it mostly on the doorway to our bathroom - and boy has it made our mornings easier now that I can get ready without chasing my son out of the bathroom (and away from the toilet) a thousand times. In the evening I end up moving it to our kitchen door to keep him out while we cook and clean up dinner dishes. I think what was most surprising about this gate is that it has a nice clean aesthetic, the design may be traditional but the material is not. The main panel is black and has circles in it instead of the bars or crosshatch that I remember from other gates of this style. I think this is a really nice gate and I am very happy with it.

The gate is light weight and easy to move to another area of the home if needed. I didn’t care for the bamboo frame because mine arrived splintered, so I’m not sure the frame would stand up to long term use. This particular gate stands 24 inches tall and isn’t quite tall enough to keep my 2 year old toddler from reaching over the gate to grab at objects on the other side and caused the gate to tip but I was able to easily step over the gate without moving it as it is not a walkthrough gate. Adjusting the gate is a little tricky at first but simple enough and it left no signs of damage to our doorframe with use. We used the gate on a standard size bathroom doorway to keep a water obsessed toddler out. Overall I don’t believe I would purchase this specific gate due to the bamboo frame splintering and 24 inch height.

This gate is really nice and very sturdy. I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old and it stood up pretty well against the two of them. It’s also is low enough that I can step over it with ease. It’s aesthetically pleasing and fits in with almost any look your home might have as well. As for installation, it took me a couple tries to get it right but once it was in place it stayed in place. Looking forward to using it to keep my toddlers safe and out of rooms I don’t want them in. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this gate.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the safety first bamboo doorway gate to test from the Stellar Panel. Unfortunately the latch was very stiff making it nearly impossible to unlatch (I had to have my husband do it). This made putting it up and removing it later impractical. For this reason I would recommend this gate only for folks looking for a permanent gate and not one that will need to be removed frequently. To work around being unable to easily remove it, the gate is only 24” high so it is possible to step over it which is what we did. Being on the lower side, my 22 month old son could probably climb this gate so again, not a good match for us. The gate had a nice design and would match oak trim nicely. Installation was easy but be aware it does require screws into the wall. With exception of the latch it was easy to install- a few small round pads and small cups screwed into the the wall serve as anchors for the gate making it very secure.

I really liked that drilling was not necessary even though it came with optional pads that could be drilled in for extra support. This gate worked out perfectly to block off an area in my kitchen. I installed the gate between my cabinet and island to keep the kids safely away from the oven. This gate has an easy pull to expand and then push to secure bar. When I was done I was able to quickly take it down and store. I will definitely be bringing this on our upcoming vacation. It is compact and light enough to throw in the car and again the fact that it doesn’t need to be drilled in the wall will make it a perfect option to keep our rental safe for our toddler. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this item as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and was excited to try out a lightweight gate that looked easy to transport and use in different locations as needed. Unfortunately, this pressure-mounted gate still requires use of wall cups that must be screwed into the wall. We were unwilling to put holes in the wall for a gate that we wanted to use temporarily in locations like grandma's house or on vacation. I appreciated the style of the gate (lightweight, modern colors, high enough to prevent toddler elopement but low enough for an adult to step over) but did note that the plastic had small stringy filaments hanging off many of the circular holes. They were easy to pick off, but my toddler definitely would've tried to eat them if I'd missed any.

I needed a baby gate that I could use in various rooms in my house. This gate is easily movable and portable, and looks nice too. This gate is short enough that it is easy for adults to step over (and my cat to jump over) but tall enough to keep my 14 month old baby in the room. I was able to move it from room to room without difficulty, once I got the hang of it. The directions were not very clear so it took me a couple tries, but once I figured it out I was able to adjust the gate with ease. Over all, I give this gate 4 stars.

This gate was different than other gates that I have used in the past. It is a little difficult to get used to but overall a great option for kiddos who are more prone to escaping. I like the color scheme of the bamboo and black design and think it could work well in a variety of spaces. We are currently using this in one of our bedroom doorways. My only complaint would be that I would prefer the gate to be taller. However, overall I really like this gate and think it’s a great option!

The natural wood color of the gate fitted perfectly with the decor of our motorhome. We used it in the doorway, as we prepare to travel with our adventurous 15 months old. The installation process of the gate, was very easy and fast, and required very little tools. The double-sided pads can be attached to the brackets before screwing, which keeps them in place so no need to mark or guess. Once installed, the gate locks in pretty tightly. I really liked that all the bars for opening the gate were on the outside of the gate, so there is no worry of toddler fiddling with it or getting fingers squished. Also, the mash of the gate is made of plastic, which should keep little fingers and toes safe from cuts.
