A: Heavily fragranced. I placed it in BUT turned it OFF and my asthma and allergies got out of control. Still releases a smell. I removed the whole thing and still smells when vacuuming. I am returning it

A: The odor dial cover needs to be installed for the vacuum to function properly. If you do not wish to use the odor neutralizer technology system, please follow the below steps: Remove the odor dial from the nozzle. Flip up the handle and rotate the dial clockwise until the two teal arrows are aligned. Pull the handle to lift the dial out of the nozzle. Remove the odor cartridge by rotating the cartridge counterclockwise in the dial housing and pull out the cartridge. Install the dial cover back into the nozzle without the cartridge. Align the teal arrow on the dial cover with the teal arrow on the nozzle, then reinsert the dial cover into the nozzle. To lock, rotate the cover counterclockwise until it clicks into place. Dispose of cartridge by dropping it in the trash.

This compact vacuum packs a powerful punch! The suction is strong enough to easily pick up pet hair (we have three indoor dogs who shed), and so strong that my area rugs will lift up while vacuuming. Some reviewers have mentioned the canister is small, but I am able to vacuum the entire house and only empty the canister once when finished. The cord is long enough that I don’t have to unplug several times which is nice! I especially like the lights, as it is easy to see what is on the floors even in low light conditions. The vacuum requires minimal storage space as well. I have previously owned Dyson vacuums, but I find this Shark product to have superior suction power, and I prefer the corded option so I am able to clean the entire home without worry of a battery dying before the job is done. Highly recommend this product!

We bought this vacuum about a month ago and were excited to receive it. The vacuum had a powerful pickup, was very good at cleaning the edges, didn't scatter dirt on the floor. The performance is really great. The only problem was that this vacuum was advertised as light weight, but with the motor at the top of the handle, it made the vacuum heavy and difficult to handle. Also the air vents from the motor blew hot air on your face. For people with arthritis in their hands this vacuum is challenging to handle. I hope Shark will eventually come out with a lightweight vacuum for people with arthritis in their hands.

I bought this to replace an aging Vertex that I loved but it wasn’t picking up things as well. So far, this vacuum is excellent. It has good suction on hardwood and carpet and it doesn’t seem quite as noisy as my last one. The dust cup is a little more difficult to empty, but that cone that collects hair is awesome. Personally I love a corded vacuum, so this is perfect for me, and my home is mostly hardwood and it is doing a great job.

The dirt cup is way too small. My last Shark vacuum it was larger. Also the floor piece with the beater bars is smaller than the last stick vacuum I purchased from Shark. Everything seems to be shrinking these days. I may want to return this new vacuum because it is a pain to have to keep emptying the dirt cup.

I bought this vacuum two weeks ago and I’ve vacuumed almost every day since. I love it so much, i can’t stop vacuuming. I used to vacuum a lot, but this vacuum finds so much more dust. I don’t even know where it’s finding it! My life is dramatically improved, and I’m not kidding.

I owned a lighter version of this new vacuum. I’ve got 3 cats& many area rugs in my 1,900 sq ft - one story house. The self cleaning, double brush-attracted me immediately. It stands on it’s own. A breeze to use & very efficient. I hate vacuuming, but this model makes it almost enjoyable.

I own several Shark vacuums. The Rotator is routinely rated as one of the best, and it really has served me well. My cordless Shark pet vac has served well, too, but I read the ratings on vacuums, and this corded Power Detect vac had the highest score of all the vacuums rated, regardless of style (upright, canister, corded, cordless). When the price dropped recently, I decided to buy it. It has the soft roller, the tangle-free beater bar, and the automatic switching between hard surfaces and rugs. Plus, it’s light-weight and pretty maneuverable. But what really sets it apart is the cleaning power. It sucked up ancient dirt and pet hair from my rugs! And I have been using good vacuums for years, but this one aced them! The bonus is that it’s pretty quiet when operating and very easy to clean. The dust cup is small but also easier to clean. All the innards are reachable for cleaning, too. The dual filter materials clean up well, as does the easily accessible HEPA filter. It has an odor control module that you can dial down (I don’t like scented things, but I also don’t like the old pet smells that often accompany running a vacuum). This scent module does a nice job of canceling those out at the low setting without overwhelming you with perfume. I don’t noice any smell which is exactly what I'd hoped for when ordering this vacuum. I will admit, as others have noted, that the cord is rather stiff, and not as supple as other Shark vacuum cords, but using it today, the cord was not a problem, and it is comparatively long, which helps, so I’m not going to ding my rating for that cord, although I would recommend using a more flexible one in future models. The build quality on this model is really good, very sturdy shaft. easy to use controls, nice attachments (and some of my Rotator attachments also fit!). My purchase included a mini-beater bar attachment for upholstery, too. I think Shark hot this one out of the park. I can see now why it was top-rated.

I love the powerful suction and the smaller vacuum head—it allows me to clean without needing to move too much furniture. The Detect Mode feature is especially impressive: it automatically senses when I'm cleaning carpet or hard flooring and adjusts the brush roll speed for optimal performance. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the odor neutralizer, but I actually really like it. After I vacuum, the whole house smells fresh and clean. Compared to my previous Shark Rocket HV345, this model has a longer cord, which gives me more flexibility. The self-standing feature is also very convenient. I don’t store it upright; instead, I use the storage hook for added safety. But it’s great to be able to leave the vacuum standing temporarily when needed. The dust cup is easy to remove and empty, which is a big plus. Overall, I love almost everything about this vacuum cleaner—except for the LED light. My old HV345 had bright LED lights on both the cleaner head and handheld vacuum. Even when detached or used with the wand, it had lighting to help see in dark spaces. This model doesn’t have LED light on the handheld vacuum side, and while it’s not a major drawback, I do miss it. That said, I still genuinely love this vacuum cleaner.

Overall, I regret this purchase. the vacuum doesn't do well at edges, dust quickly blocks space between rollers. Cord is horrible, I should have listened to reviews. Pet hair tool never worked. Attachments keep falling off as you are vacuuming. I wasted money I don't have, very disappointed. Contacting warranty is so complicated, I have been going in circles.
