Audio quality worse than $20 earbuds. Would not recommend if you expect to receive continuess sound to both ears. Left earbud constantly disconnects. Updating SW doesn't help. Sony has been aware of the issue for at least 2 years.

Well worth the cost.

The quality of sound is what I have come to expect from Sony, excellent. I have had difficulty in the past with other manufacturers ear bud staying in place but not these. The price for the pure clarity is very reasonable and charge length is very good.

Hope the batteries last.....

After my poor experience with the previous model - battery drain then disposal - I nearly went for an alternative with the replacement buds. However, these perform spectacularly. My only criticism is the miniscule button to press for pairing. Very tricky to pair with Technogym equipment. Just hope the batteries keep going.

Outstanding, well done Sony (again!).

I bought these a few weeks ago as an upgrade to my WF-1000XM4s and boy am I glad I did! Don't get me wrong my previous earbuds have served me well for a few years but the connection was getting unstable and I have had my eye on these for some time. As a long-time Sony nut I always tend to go for their products but only if the reviews and specs stack up and these guys certainly do. Out of the (minimalist) packaging they just look good and with a considerably smaller charging case than their predecessors nice for the pocket. Some people have complained about getting them out of the case but to me it was intuitive. Wireless charging and nice(r) aesthetics make it a pleasant experience. Performance wise I am more than happy. I used to use the medium fit supplied with the WF-1000XM4 but have found the large actually work better with these and give a really good seal for noise cancelling. Sony have introduced the great feature of swapping between Noise cancelling and Ambient mode with a tap of the earbuds, something I find massively useful when out and about so you don't need to remove the buds at all really as it works really well. What would be good is a long press on the right to turn volume up and a long press on left for volume down for completeness for me. The actual sound quality is as I would have expected, absolutely lovely! Deep bass, rich mid range and crisp highs. I use these with my current 5iv and the delivery is excellent, I can't wait for the performance when I upgrade to the 1 vii in the not too distant future. I am lucky enough t own the WH-1000XM5 headphones and have to say, whilst these can't match them for that complete soundscape experience, they do come really close. I do still suffer from some connectivity issues but this is probably down to the 5 iv as it is getting on a bit now but way more stable than my XM4s. I want to add that the call quality has been massively improved with no complaints about echoing from the other end and the ease of use and confidence greatly upgraded. I regularly use these whilst riding my bike and just like the XM4s the wind reduction is excellent along with the water repellent attributes. I know I am biased but I struggle to think how these things could be improved at all, but that is a challenge for Sony to take on with the next generation. All in all a cracking set of earbuds that are comfortable, effective, long lasting and sweet. Buy some, you won't be disappointed.

Good Earphones with Some Limitations

Bought for my Wife and she is happy with them. Performance is good, but not exceptional for the price. Noise cancelling is not as good as Bose but still helpful, Good balance of sound, but not as immersive as the reviews suggest.

Fantastic bombastic

The first I wish to thank you Sony for fantastic earbuds. Absolutely stunning item. Quality of music it's extremely brilliantly amazing -top level. It works perfectly with my phone Sony Xperia 1 vii. Not a perfect noise cancelling product

I bought it for a friend who works in a very noisy industrial invironment. when I called him during work hours, the noise cancelling feature did not work well. I had much better experience with new samsung ear buds.

Over rated

I bought these and honestly my jabra elite 8 active are much better, have better ANC and alot more superior bass and soft bass, these I think are good for watching movies t.v not for gym

Not bad

Bought on recommendation, sound very good though not 100% convinced by noise cancelling, buds do seem to fall out of ears easily (maybe I have big ear canals!).

Excellent sound quality and features

I previously owned the WF-1000XM3 earbuds, and was very satisfied with the fit, sound quality, and features offered via the Sound Connect app. Since they were about four years old, I decided to upgrade to the WF-1000XM5 model. The fit is better, the sound quality is better, and the ambient noise cancelling is better. In addition, the case and earbuds are significantly smaller. Overall, an excellent purchase.

Noise cancelling a disappointment.

Sound quality is good in the right environment. However the noise cancellation is poor. Out walking or going through a supermarket I can hear everything-people talking, the whir of refrigerators, road noise of cars. Changed the size of the pods and checked the settings, but no improvement. Sounds the same with NC off or on. Disappointed with them in general considering the price. Controls and software poor. Software doesn't provide info on device(such as charge level) unless out of the case which is nonsensical as chance of losing them increases. Have had controls on other ear pods make more sense. Requiring 4 plus touches to change volume is weird. My previous LG controls were better

They're ok

Truely enjoying the quailty sound and build

May be easiest to say everything is great with one minor issue (so far) Right ear bud does not always connect. This requires it to be placed back in the case and removed to connect. A bit of a nit pick as the sound, build & comfort are top notch.
