Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend

The instructions are terrible. This is not for a 6 year old. An adult will most likely have to help with a large portion of it. I also ran out of the provided glue very quickly, so have some super glue on hand.

Entertaining but can be difficult to assemble
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is a toy that definitely needs an adult to help assemble. They have very small pieces so they should be done by older than 6 year olds. Overall they are great mini replicas. They shine bright when turned on. They are fun to have mini duels with without a lot off attention.

Hard To Assemble
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to love this; however it was not my son’s favorite Star Wars toy. The packaging says for 6+ but I find it hard to believe considering my 12 year old struggled. It’s a great craft to do together.

For older kids
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kit indicates that it is for ages 6 and up. I would not recommend it for any kid younger than 9 or 10 unless the adult wants to do all the work. I have 2 children aged 12 and 16 and they were able to construct the lightsabers on their own, but it was not easy, especially for my 12 year old. The kit come with batteries and glue, but not a tiny screwdriver which is needed. We were lucky to have a tiny screwdriver (like for glasses), but not everyone has a screwdriver that small and it is necessary to put these together. The screws are super tiny and there are a lot of small parts that go I to this. I am not suggesting that a 6 year old would swallow them, but the dexterity required for this project is very fine. Also, including a mini screwdriver would be very helpful.

Cool light saber kit!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was pretty cool if you are a Star Wars fan. Easy to assemble and fun for the kids. I wish they would have had these when I was a kid. Seems pretty sturdy and material was not cheap.

Too advanced, cool once built
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We wanted to love this. Even my husband had a lot of difficulty putting the light sabers together. The product did not come with clear directions or all the pieces, so we had to use electrical tape to get the red one to stay together, but it does not light up consistently. Definitely not for a 7 year old. He had fun with them once they were built, but they were too advanced a project.

Frustrating to put together.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My honest review. Pros: I was a free sample. It fits nicely in the trash. Cons: My teenager tried to put it together. After an hour, he broke his lightsaber in half out of frustration and threw it away.

Not easy and not for kids
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was pretty difficult to put together. It took my husband an hour just to put one together and then he realized it was missing the same parts for the second light saber. I was excited to get this for my 6 yo who can put LEGO sets together with minimal help and was thinking this would be a good challenge but this was too difficult for a beginner to assemble. The one they built was nice and fun while it lasted, but the battery died after an hour or so. Overall would only recommend for an adult collector as long as all the pieces are there. These are small and not for actual play.

Not a kid toy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cheap parts that were very small and hard to assemble. The blue Lightsaber doesn't light up very brightly. The instructions were very basic and hard to follow. "I received this product free for my honest opinion on Influenster "

Great toy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put this together with my son and it was very fun! I am very glad it came with a battery. It did not take terribly long and now he likes playing with it along with his other toys. It’s been holding up very well so no issues there. I will definitely look into their other toys to assemble together.

Great assemblyproject to do with kids.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fun, entertaining project to do with the kids. Assembly is a little tricky for adults as the screws and nuts are very very small but with the help of a kid it makes it easier. Thlightsabers are small so they are not very durable for playing with.

Fun little lightsabers
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the kind of activity you are probably going to finish for your child. It was tricky and my nine and thirteen year old both skipped a step. Aside from a tiny screw my husband said it wasn’t too hard to put together. My red one doesn’t glow nearly as much, I don’t know if it’s defective, but I still love them. I think they are cute, small enough to pair with other toys, or put in a pocket for a trip. Heck if they don’t play with them I will!

Nice lighted saber swords!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Star Wars Construct Your Own Lightsabers are a nice set of light sabers! There is definitely some constructing when putting these sabers together. You have to make sure you get all the little pieces in the right place, but once they are together, they are nice little lighted sabers. One is blue & one is red, 8 inch each, and it also comes with a 2 sided poster for the kids. Definitely a nice toy for older kids and not recommended for smaller kids because of the small pieces!

Adult assembly required, Terrible instructions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The age on this product is so misleading. My 6 year old was chomping at the bit to do this and the reality is that he could hardly participate in the assembly. The instructions are so bad. We chose to build the earth Vader saber first and did the video the QR code on that page brought us to. It took forever to realize that midway through the video they are actually assembling the obi wan saber. We could not see the tiny un colored graphics in the print instructions well and the text definitely skips over stuff. Some of the pieces were difficult to put together. I got frustrated and made my husband come help. It’s also strange that they designed this to need glue. The resulting toy is still great and my son loves it but mentally prepare yourself for the assembly and know that the parent is going to do almost all of it. The kid can screw in the colored stick at the end. The finish product feels solid.

Kinda cool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loved putting this together but got to say it's kinda cheaply made. It feel apart not long after but still pretty cool. Lights up like a light saber and you can build it how you like.

Cool toy!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the coolest! My kids were very entertained. Seems safe to assemble and the toys themselves seem very durable! Love the thought that goes into creating the light sabers!

Not recommended
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The directions were very hard to understand and follow. The quality of the pieces were not what I was expecting and were flimsy. The packaging states it is for 6+ but I would not recommend for under 12 just for safety. The light output was very dull. The ease of install is not easy at all. After about 2-3 hours everything went back into the packaging and I gave up on it.

A little smaller than expected
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not a huge Star Wars fan but these are fun! Easy to put together and then my kids had a little battle. They seem to be built well. Battery was also included. I’d get these as an extra little gift for someone who loves Star Wars.
