Description
Helpful hints-The meat probe is a thin wire coated in Silicone. Be very careful not to crimp this wire in the oven- door , BBQ top ,or Smoker door. The probe , like all in the industry , should be kept away from flame flare-ups and contact with cooking surfaces. Another tip- be sure to insert the probe into the meat at least 1.5 inches. This insures that you will get the correct readings at all times.

Q: I'd like to use this in my turkey fryer, which means some of the silicone cord would be submerged in oil while cooking. Will this thermometer work for this application? Thanks

Q: Can the probe remain in the meat for the entire cooking time? And if so, can the wire withstand the heat of the oven for that duration?
A: The probe can remain in the meat for the entire cooking time. The thermometer sits on the counter while the cord winds through the oven door and the temperature can be read without opening the oven door. The thermometer displays temperature in Fahrenheit (32 degrees F to 392 degrees F) and Celsius (0 degrees C to 200 degrees C). Please make sure you do not use the cord and probe for oven temperatures higher than 392F & be sure the probe and cable does not get crimped. Please reach out if you have additional questions.

Q: Can you use the thermometer to monitor internal temp as it is being prepared on the stove or does it only work in the oven?
A: The probe will monitor any temperature when inserted properly into the food whether it is in the oven or not. If you have any additional questions, please reach back out. Thanks!

Q: will this work with an induction cooktop
A: The thermometer probe touches the food, not the cooking surface so the type of heat does not affect the performance. Please note that this thermometer is meant for in oven cooking with the wire through the door and the base station on the outside. If you have additional questions, please reach back out. Thanks!

Q: Do you need to calibrate the thermometer? I was making a brisket last week and the temperature stopped at 154. I then took the thermometer out and repoked the meat outside of the smoker and it registered 195 degrees.
A: Temperatures can continue to rise 10-15 degrees during the rest period once meat is removed from the oven. This is called carry over cooking. The thermometer may also have been inserted into a different spot in the food. The center temperature will be lower than the smaller/thinner sides or the surface areas. Please reach back out with any additional questions. Thanks!

Q: Does the silicone cord come into contact in normal use with the probe's sharp wire entryway? Are there issues with the cord fraying there with normal use?
A: If used properly, the probe should not puncture the silicone cord. Be sure to store the probe wrapped in a way to keep it safe. The wire probe is clamped onto the silicone cord so it should not become frayed with normal use. Please reach back out if you have any additional questions. Thanks!
