A gripping mix of suspense and heart!
The Final Target by Nora Roberts is a tense, emotional thriller that held my attention from beginning to end. It is a well-written story with strong characters, steady pacing, and an especially effective villain. The multiple points of view add depth, and I liked how suspense, obsession, and family drama are woven throughout the story. The relationships felt genuine, which gave the book added emotional weight. The assault is graphic and may be upsetting for some readers, but the story is ultimately about hope, healing, and reclaiming independence. There is also romance, and Gideon brings warmth and calm to the darker parts of the novel. The unexpected twists and satisfying ending made this a suspenseful, compelling read.

Captivating, Heart Pounding Romantic Suspense
When the story begins, Arden works in a bookstore part time and enjoys her life with her family and friends who all live in the same small town. When she is brutally attacked in her home by a stalker, her life changes completely and she is left to pick up the pieces and try to move on. She does so by moving to another small community in Oregon called Riverbend. The setting there was so well-described that I felt as though I were visiting it personally and getting to know the friendly neighbors and shopkeepers. Arden has become a bestselling writer so she is able to purchase her dream home and stay focused on her career instead of the past assault. The action is fast paced and the story has a dual POV, Arden’s and her attacker Dustin. Dustin vows to find Arden again and to make her his, almost like she is a piece of property that he can buy. He is an out-of-control sociopath, and the story has multiple twists and turns revolving around his choices. The story is dark at times but also hopeful and completely engaging. It is a story of survival and thriving after the unthinkable happens and as is true of all of the author’s books, there is a swoon worthy hero who steps into Arden’s life and helps her to recognize her strengths and resilience. I was immersed in the drama of the story and found it to a rich tale with a high sense of believability. I enjoyed the family dynamics between Arden and her family and Gideon and his grandfather. I was captivated by the story and the escalating tension that ramped up considerably as Dustin sought to capture Arden and take her to a hideaway. This intensely suspense-filled and cleverly plotted page turner left me satisfied at the end but also wanting more of Arden’s future story. I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.
