Description
Pediatric Dermatologist Recommended, Thinkbaby Mineral Sunscreen has held the highest rating in EWG's database since 2010. This baby sunscreen is formulated with Non-Nano Zinc Oxide for full spectrum UVA and UVB protection. Applies and absorbs easily and is water resistant for 80 minutes. Free of biologically harmful chemicals with no PABA, parabens, benzoate, phthalates, BPA, oxybenzone, avobenzone, or toxic chemicals. Cruelty Free and Reef Safe. Children 6 months and older should wear sunscreen when in the sun, but children younger should receive a doctor's approval first.

Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply: after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating; immediately after towel drying; at least every 2 hours when exposed to sun. Sun Protection Measures. Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. Q: Does this sunscreen sting when gets in eyes?

A: Yes, it absolutely does sting in our experience. But most sunscreens will do this. Have a wet wipe ready if your baby gets sweaty.

Q: Is this safe for babies under 6 months old?

A: It's my understanding the reasons why they are market it for babies 6 months+ is because when they don't test on young babies and recommend younger babies have very limited exposure to direct sun/heat. That being said, I did you this on my 4 month old's legs and arms with a clear conscience (due to the safer ingredients) for the short time we were at the beach/pool after testing a small area for reaction. I kept as much of her covered as I could so we only used a small amount but had no problems. We like this brand & will stick with it as she gets older.

Q: EWG notes concerns with tocopherol being contaminated with hydroquinone. What form of tocopherol is in your product (d-alpha-tocopherol, d-alpha-tocopherol acetate, dl-alpha tocopherol, or dl-alpha)?

A: We use tocopherol acetate but have documentation from our supplier that there is no residual hydroquinone present in this ingredient.

Q: Will it sting the eyes?

A: If our THINKbaby sunscreen gets into the eyes, it will likely irritate them. This is true of all sunscreens. The advantage of our formulation is that we’ve developed it to have the highest level of water resistance (very water resistant to 80 minutes) so our sunscreen will not readily flush into your eyes whether swimming at the pool or running a favorite trail. We also use a natural ingredient (pine wood resin) to attain our high level of water/sweat resistance.

A: This is a mineral sunscreen and can be used on your face. Like all mineral sunscreens it's recommended to wash your face at the end of the day.

Very upset that they changed the formula and added a fragrance. This was the perfect sunscreen to use on my face and now after breaking out multiple times after starting this new bottle of it I have finally gotten a clue that this is the culprit. Garbage. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

This was my all-time favorite sunscreen for years, but they have recently reformulated it and added fragrance. It reminds me of the smell of baby aspirin from my childhood. I can't use anything with fragrance on my face, so I will start my search for a new brand. :(

Disappointed that the company who bought out the think company, reformulated this sunscreen. It was one of two brands I would use for my children, but now won’t buy again. Sad because it was more convienent than the other brand, because I could pick this up in stores in a pinch.

I really wanted to like this, but I tried it several times on my daughter and she got burnt every time. On top of that, the price?! Will never buy again and threw the bottle away.

Your feedback is really appreciated. We’re so sorry you had this experience! To prevent sunburn, we recommend that you apply 2 teaspoons of sunscreen over all the face and more to cover areas of exposed skin, reapplying every 2 hours (especially after sweating, direct sun exposure, or swimming).

I am an avid bicyclist and stand up paddler boarder and I also have really sensitive skin. This sunscreen offers excellent protection even on long bike rides when I get really sweaty. My skin always feels soft after using this product.

Purchased this last year and did not repurchase this year because I hated the odor. (Apparently people say this year it was reformulated but I think the original had a bad metallic odor). Moreso, it would NOT come off, even with scrubbing in the bath. My baby would smell like this for like 2 days and it was very drying. Switched to Blue Lizard this year and have had zero issues with odor or dry skin.

Think physical (mineral zinc oxide) sunscreens are designed to resist sweat and water activity while nourishing the skin with EWG-rated safe ingredients. If you are reapplying every two hours (which we always recommend!) then the layering of the mineral sunscreen after re-application may perhaps cause an uneven texture on skin. We recommend our Shampoo + Bodywash to help gently remove chlorine and sunscreen from baby’s skin.

I trusted this brand due to the 'no tox' ingredients.Both have baby soft skin usually, ages 2 & 3 years. Since using this their skin is like SANDPAPER in all areas applied. I feel terrible for applying this to my little ones skin and will never use it again.

For a long while, I have happily used ThinkBaby (with papaya scent) instead of ThinkSport (with grapefruit scent) b/c I'm super sensitive to citrus oils, and even that tiny amount irritated my skin. The new ThinkBaby formula now has GRAPEFRUIT PEEL OIL - I decided to give it a try anyway, but sure enough, my skin is freaking out. So disappointing! I also wish they'd make a version without any silicones. Take out the sensitizing ingredients like citrus oils, and silicones, and I'll give it another try!

This sunscreen gave my 4 year old a rash and extremely dry skin. I would not recommend it. Although it’s highly rated on the EWG website. I was extremely disappointed in this product.
