Q: Does this sunscreen sting when gets in eyes?

submitted by VisionMaker - 2 years ago
  • A: Yes, it absolutely does sting in our experience. But most sunscreens will do this. Have a wet wipe ready if your baby gets sweaty.

submitted byannetters - 10 months ago
  • A: If sunscreen gets into your eyes, it’ll likely irritate them. But, our sunscreen is developed with the highest level of water resistance, so it won’t readily flush into your eyes.

Q: Can adults also use this sunscreen?

submitted by Betzabel - 2 years ago
  • A: Yes, adults can use this suncreen!

Q: Is this broad-spectrum?

  • A: Yes, these products offer broad-spectrum UVA & UVB protection.

  • A: Yes, Thinkbaby SPF 50 Lotion offers broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection

    submitted byDERMA E - 2 years ago

Q: Does it leave a white cast?

Q: Is this safe for babies under 6 months old?

submitted by Addie - 7 years ago
  • A: It's my understanding the reasons why they are market it for babies 6 months+ is because when they don't test on young babies and recommend younger babies have very limited exposure to direct sun/heat. That being said, I did you this on my 4 month old's legs and arms with a clear conscience (due to the safer ingredients) for the short time we were at the beach/pool after testing a small area for reaction. I kept as much of her covered as I could so we only used a small amount but had no problems. We like this brand & will stick with it as she gets older.

    submitted byRachel325 - 7 years ago
  • A: As far as I have been told with all 3 of my children that babies under 6 months are not supposed to wear sunscreen at all

submitted byIversen - 7 years ago

Q: EWG notes concerns with tocopherol being contaminated with hydroquinone. What form of tocopherol is in your product (d-alpha-tocopherol, d-alpha-tocopherol acetate, dl-alpha tocopherol, or dl-alpha)?

submitted by Mama Bear - 2 years ago
  • A: We use tocopherol acetate but have documentation from our supplier that there is no residual hydroquinone present in this ingredient.

submitted byTHINK Product Expert - 1 year ago

Q: Will it sting the eyes?

submitted by Rtse - 4 years ago
  • A: If our THINKbaby sunscreen gets into the eyes, it will likely irritate them. This is true of all sunscreens. The advantage of our formulation is that we’ve developed it to have the highest level of water resistance (very water resistant to 80 minutes) so our sunscreen will not readily flush into your eyes whether swimming at the pool or running a favorite trail. We also use a natural ingredient (pine wood resin) to attain our high level of water/sweat resistance.

    submitted byDERMA E - 4 years ago

Q: Is it non comedogenic? Can I use it on my face?

submitted by Lia - 5 years ago
  • A: This is a mineral sunscreen and can be used on your face. Like all mineral sunscreens it's recommended to wash your face at the end of the day.

I have been an avid user of thinkbaby for 9 years. I go ave always felt the high price point worth it as it has always been above and beyond other mineral sunscreens in texture, feel my skin feels great. I have four kids I buy 4 to 6 big 6 oz bottles a year. I recommend to everyone.....however the new white bottles we got i noticed it felt and smelled a bit different right away. But thought they must have changed something but it'll still be great. We're on vacation and everyones skin is dry, flaking, red peeling and we got BURNED!!!!!! We have always used it on Vacation and all summer. We reapply often and never got burned until now!! Our skin has never been dry or peeled and I gave 4 children all 6 of us having issues, different skin types and not particularly sensitive skin😭. It feels awful!!! I'll probably be ever buy it again...lots of mineral sunscreens are better that THIS!! Thinkbaby you were a cult favorite among moons WHY did you change!!!!! Soo disappointed. Pictures actually de emphasize how bad it is

Very upset that they changed the formula and added a fragrance. This was the perfect sunscreen to use on my face and now after breaking out multiple times after starting this new bottle of it I have finally gotten a clue that this is the culprit. Garbage. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Thank you for your informative feedback! We’ve noted concerns over the newly added term “Natural Fragrance Oils” to our inactive ingredient list. This term is to describe the function of natural oils that are presented, which is to provide a naturally scented aroma —this is not a new addition to our formulas. For any additional questions about our ingredients, please refer to our FAQ as we continue to update its contents to include more information. https://thinksun.com/pages/faq

This was my all-time favorite sunscreen for years, but they have recently reformulated it and added fragrance. It reminds me of the smell of baby aspirin from my childhood. I can't use anything with fragrance on my face, so I will start my search for a new brand. :(

Disappointed that the company who bought out the think company, reformulated this sunscreen. It was one of two brands I would use for my children, but now won’t buy again. Sad because it was more convienent than the other brand, because I could pick this up in stores in a pinch.

I really wanted to like this, but I tried it several times on my daughter and she got burnt every time. On top of that, the price?! Will never buy again and threw the bottle away.
1 reply from Think Product Expert team - 7 months ago
Your feedback is really appreciated. We’re so sorry you had this experience! To prevent sunburn, we recommend that you apply 2 teaspoons of sunscreen over all the face and more to cover areas of exposed skin, reapplying every 2 hours (especially after sweating, direct sun exposure, or swimming).

This sunscreen gave my 7 month old a rash. It ranks #1 for EWG but I think they added fragrance to their new formulation. Extremely disappointed.

We appreciate your feedback and we understand where your concerns stem from. With our new packaging, we updated labeling to be more transparent and compliant for the international labeling conventions and EWG rating. Please be assured that the ingredients are the same reliable core ingredients with the effective benefits of broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection as they previously were but may come from a new source/vendor. Purchased this last year and did not repurchase this year because I hated the odor. (Apparently people say this year it was reformulated but I think the original had a bad metallic odor). Moreso, it would NOT come off, even with scrubbing in the bath. My baby would smell like this for like 2 days and it was very drying. Switched to Blue Lizard this year and have had zero issues with odor or dry skin.

Thanks for contacting us with your concerns! We’re sorry you’ve experienced this issue. Think physical (mineral zinc oxide) sunscreens are designed to resist sweat and water activity while nourishing the skin with EWG-rated safe ingredients. If you are reapplying every two hours (which we always recommend!) then the layering of the mineral sunscreen after re-application may perhaps cause an uneven texture on skin. We recommend our Shampoo + Bodywash to help gently remove chlorine and sunscreen from baby’s skin.

Mild scent, rubs in much better than other mineral sunscreens and works well. It will get on clothes and not wash out on a gentle cycle, but overall it definitely does its job. #sweepstakes

I trusted this brand due to the 'no tox' ingredients. Both have baby soft skin usually, ages 2 & 3 years. Since using this their skin is like SANDPAPER in all areas applied. I feel terrible for applying this to my little ones skin and will never use it again.

New Formula Not For ME

2 out of 5 stars
Nadine - 9 months ago

For a long while, I have happily used ThinkBaby (with papaya scent) instead of ThinkSport (with grapefruit scent) b/c I'm super sensitive to citrus oils, and even that tiny amount irritated my skin. The new ThinkBaby formula now has GRAPEFRUIT PEEL OIL - I decided to give it a try anyway, but sure enough, my skin is freaking out. So disappointing! I also wish they'd make a version without any silicones. Take out the sensitizing ingredients like citrus oils, and silicones, and I'll give it another try!
