Q: Will these tablets still work as well as the gels if they're diphenhydramine free? I cannot take the gels due to the gelatin in them, but the gels were highly recommended.

A: Gels have 50mg and tablets have 25mg. Diphenhydramine and Doxylamine are both 1st-gen antihistamines; latter with a longer half-life and actually more effective for insomia. I only need 12.5mg.

I’m not sure how effective they really were but I think they helped, and I didn’t experience bad side effects aside from minor grogginess.

I haven't noticed a major difference in falling asleep, but I do sleep better through the night. I wake up slightly groggy which is expected. I like that the pills are easy to swallow and have a child proof lid

They don’t knock me out instantly (which I actually prefer), but within 30–45 minutes, I start to feel relaxed and ready for bed. I struggle a lot because I'm very sleepy during the day and not at night. But my sleep problems are over because with these pills, I sleep like a princess all night long. I take one pill 30 minutes before bed, and they work quickly, and I sleep very peacefully all night.
This does the trick but you wake up groggy.

The sleepy need definitely kept me asleep through the night. The bottle is easy to open so if you have any arthritis or joint issues in your wrist and fingers you don't have to worry. They're small pills easy to swallow and there's no nasty smell.

I can kind of tell when I'm going to have a hard time going to sleep, so I take a Unisom about 30 minutes before I head to bed. I sleep well and I sleep through the night. You do need to make sure you're able to get a full night's sleep otherwise you might be restless still in the morning. I will always have these on hand for when I need a little extra help getting to sleep.
