    This microwave came with the purchase of my home. Suddenly the turntable wont stop when the door is open! ive tried to replace it but Im unable to find one that fits the trim and cabinet made for it. This is ridiculous. I cannot find a whirlpool replacement!

    So far 2 of these gone down in approx same amount of time. Feels like they are programmed to fails at exact same durations. Always the control panel stops working. Bought this second time because builder installed it over the oven. But not any more.

    When we moved into our house this model was 2 years old, within 6 months the start button stopped functioning. It is built in so a replacement which fits is incredibly hard to find so we bought the same model. After 24 months, it is now developing rust on the inside. Whirlpool refuses to do anything because it is out of the 1 year manufacturer warranty. I will not be buying Whirlpool again.

Research said the Whirlpool was highly rated so we purchased it. Everything is better than our old Panosonic except when the heating is done the tray doesn’t rotate back to the original position.     After about 2 years the start button completely stopped working (after working on/off previously)... all of the other buttons work, but the one button we truly "need" to use the microwave is unresponsive. Very frustrating since it's a built in that came with our house, currently looking to replace it with something else that will fit the built in kit...

    I was well pleased with this unit until about two months ago when the paint started pealing and the roof was corroding causing holes. I have not been able to get an email address to warranty to send pictures requested for further processing.

    Dont buy this, they stop working in 2 years

    My neighbor and I both had homes built brand new in 2022 with the exact same appliances. All whirlpool. Our building put the same microwave, this model, in both houses. My cook time button randomly stopped working last fall. So consequently I cant melt or soften button because i cant adjust the power without cook time button. Minor annoyance. Fine i have to figure out how to melt or soften cream cheese or butter other ways. Now slowly multiple buttons stopped working. And i cant find a replacement part anywhere! I was told whirlpool doesnt even make or sell replacement parts. I took it completely apart and nothing is amiss its just defective. Just as this started happening, i mention it to my neighbor and she tells me 3 days later that she went to heat up breakfast for her small children before school and her microwave barely comes on, and wont heat food. Im seeing MANY people online having the same control panel issues and right at the 2-3 year mark the microwave starts to malfunction and whirlpool wont do anything. Im not buying anything made by them again. Will be replacing this unit with a samsung.

    Inside finish rusting after 2 years

    Ordered this microwave for my new house - moved in August 2022. Now, Dec 2024, it has chipped paint and rust spots on the inside and around the door despite being very well taken care of. It has worked well, but I’d expect the inside finish to last a lot longer.

    Horrible usability

    This microwave was installed in a home I recently purchased. It heats food well enough but severely fails at usability. The door open mechanism is cheap and loud to operate. You can’t just change the power level any time you want — you must properly start the cooks cycle. For example, if you push the add 30 sec button you can’t then change the power to 50%. Why? The beeping notification is a failure as well. It beeps exactly 5 times. It you open the door after the first beep, it continues to beep 4 more times. Why? If you don’t open the door because you didn’t hear the beeping or because you got distracted, it doesn’t beep again a few minutes later. Why? Microwaves have been common place in homes for over over 40 years. These features are so basic they should be automatic for every oven produced. Why would a manufacturer like Whirlpool struggle with these things? It’s embarrassing.
