I really liked the color of this dye and it worked well for my hair. My hair was left shiny and felt great after styling. The smell didn't bother me much but I am used to dying my hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first started dying my hair 20 years ago, Color Silk was the cheap, affordable option that maybe wasn’t quite as effective as the pricier dyes. But Revlon has certainly improved their formula since the last time I used it. It now dyes your hair more effectively and moisturizes your hair with keratin and a bond repair complex. It also comes with a post dye conditioner that moisturizes and strengthens your hair. As dyes can dry out your hair, these are quite desirable attributes for a box dye.

Since it is not ammonia based it is much nicer to use smell-wise than others I have used in the past. The products came in containers that were easy to open. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I used this for some gray root touch up and it did an ok job.it did not cover all the gray but I did not expect it to from past experience with store bought color. I think if you are looking for a quick touch up or color change that this would be a good choice.

It doesn’t have that strong, chemical smell either—no ammonia, which is a huge plus for me. In just a short time, it transformed my previous color (a coppery chocolate from another brand) and the shine it left was OMG. The real game-changer for me was how well it covered my stubborn gray hairs on the top—something two other dyes had failed to do. After rinsing it out, I used my regular hair mask and dried my hair, and wow… the shine and softness were incredible. From now on, ColorSilk™️ with Bond Repair Complex is going to be my go-to whenever I want to color my hair.

In a half hour you’re good to go! For gray coverage I can stretch about 6-8wks between use. My hair always feels soft thanks to the conditioner included with the product.

The application process was quick and easy, taking about 25–30 minutes total. The scent was mild compared to most hair dyes, which made it much more pleasant to use. After rinsing, my hair had a noticeable shine and felt soft. Coverage was excellent, with every strand evenly colored and my grays completely hidden.
