Description
The Steelie Orbiter Vent Mount Kit takes hands-free to the next level by combining our portable vent mount, powerful orbiter magnetic socket, and a low-profile metal plate that easily attaches to your phone or case. The vent mount can be moved from car to car by simply unlocking the strong cam lever, then locking it back in place on the next vehicle vent. The Orbiter Magnetic Socket attaches to the vent mount using a powerful neodymium magnet and silicone center for a secure connection and smooth glide. The mounting surface of the Orbiter Magnetic Socket features a thin high-friction ring that prevents slipping and ensures your phone stays securely in place. Simply adhere the low-profile metal plate to your phone or case, attach the vent mount to your vehicle vent, and you're ready to quickly attach, detach, and rotate your phone for the perfect viewing angle. Excellent accessory except...
I've had this product for 6-8 months now and I am generally happy with the product. I've had no issues with the vent grip slipping and the magnet is plenty strong enough for the 2 A series phones I've had while owning it. The only issue I've had is with the grip material that keeps the phone from slipping. The material is now deteriorating and becoming soft and gooey and is starting to leave a sticky residue on the metal plate. I would think that the material would have been tested to last at least a couple of years.

The Steelie Orbiter Vent Kit is exactly what I wanted to hold my phone for driving instructions. I had to attach it to my air vent upside down to make it secure, but it works just fine that way. I bought one for myself about a month ago and purchased this one for a friend.

Perfect product
Read reviews of the vent clip not working properly. Those reviewers must be on something as this is one of the best phone holder products I’ve seen. Not only does it work perfectly, my vent clip is hard to remove. Maybe the other reviewers had extremely thin car vents, but for reference it holds onto the thin plastic hanger on the box with ease (with weight).

Great idea, but..
Bought this for my car. Put up with it sliding out of the vent everytime I tried to pull my phone off for awhile, because it supports the phone well. Eventually got fed up and gave it to my husband, hoping it would work better in his car. No dice. Slides out every time he tries to pull his phone off of it too. The grip needs to be tighter.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear the Vent Kit is not working for you. One way to overcome this issue is to hold the Steelie ball in place as you pull the magnet off. I know this can be an extra step, but the strength of the magnet is greater than the clamp in the vent. We also have two other kinds of mounts: one that adheres to the dashboard and one that suction cups to the windshield. I'm loving my new orbiter! I have other Steelie products for my cell phone, but this is the best yet due to the low profile on the back of my phone. I keep leaving the magnetic socket in my Jeep though so I will likely buy another socket for in the house. Did I say I'm loving it?!

Used the other model with the magnet with red dot attached to the phone, where it wouldnt lie flat on it's back, made it difficult to use phone screen while flat on a surface. However, this design with the thin disc on the back is perfect! Strong magnet, strong clamp to vent. Best thing, when I change cars, or travel and rent cars, this can go with me! It's the best I can really imagine... I'm in sales, in the car a ton, so I have used many brands over the years... Can't say enough positive things.

Great Product!
I've used the Orbiter model in my Highlander for over a year. My phone is Galaxy S9 Plus with an Otterbox case I like that the metal plate is thin, stuck right on the Otterbox and has never come off. Also, I can adjust and rotate the Orbiter as needed. I have referred friends who are amazed when they see me simply place my phone on the Orbiter and it stays long or short trips. I haven't had any problems.

Amazing idea but won't hold tight in vent.
Got this as a gift from my kids. I love the idea but it simply won't hold tight enough in the vent. I've got a Samsung Galaxy S20 plus. It's not a heavy phone but I'm constantly having to readjust it.

Great idea, poor product
I really tried to like this. But the flaw is in the design. It simply doesn’t grip the air vent well enough and you’re always pulling it off the vent when grabbing the phone. One of the vent clips should have a small groove to grab the backside of the vent clip to prevent it from pulling out. Nice try, maybe next time!!

I would add that if you buy one of our Steelie Kits please look to the 'Plus' kits. They have the stronger magnet that your larger phone will require.
