We previously had a polk system and it's roughly the same quality besides the major bass difference. Overall we are satisfied with the system but probably would just go with a less expensive option next time.

Hi Bassking, We appreciate you providing your feedback and experience with the HW-Q990F soundbar. Please know there are a wide range of audio adjustments available to tune the sound to your liking. You can manually optimize your audio experience by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (which looks like a gear), you can set the audio function such as Auto EQ, Spacefit sound, AVA, Voice Enhance mode, Night mode, Sync, Surround speaker mode, Virtual. The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons. Alternatively, you can press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. You can try quickly optimizing the audio by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or ADAPTIVE SOUND. To control the volume of each speaker, press the CH LEVEL button on the provided remote. Then select CENTER LEVEL, SIDE LEVEL, WIDE LEVEL, FRONT TOP LEVEL, REAR LEVEL, or REAR TOP LEVEL. Once you find the channel you are looking for, adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons. There are multiple ways to control the bass levels for your new Soundbar. 1) Using the WOOFER button on the provided Soundbar remote. Use the woofer button by pushing forward or pulling backward on the button itself to adjust the bass levels between -12 or -6/+6. If you want to reset the bass to 0 then push the button in. 2) When you press the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the treble or bass levels between -6/+6. Alternatively, you can adjust all of these same settings and more within the SmartThings app. Download the app for your iOS or Android device and then connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. From here, you will be able to adjust all of the same settings as the provided remote, but with the added benefit of being able to see the changes on your smart device. I bought this to replace my high quality 7.1 system in order to get rid of a bunch of wires and speakers every where. I did not expect it to sound this GOOD. This thing sounds amazing and packs a punch. I had a Denon Receiver and Klipsch Speakers and I think this sounds better. My wife loves the clean look and sound as well.

I was in the assumption that Yamaha had the best sound clarity until I heard from Samsung. The sound will take you to the next level. Very clear voice, small sub with mind blowing output, the satellite speakers are very powerful. Worth the money spent. The sound bar is really huge compared to my Yamaha and sound output is excellent.

From the very first movie night, the difference in sound was incredible. The surround effect makes you feel like you’re right in the middle of the action, and the bass from the woofer is so powerful that it adds a whole new level to everything we watch or listen to. Even when we’re just watching regular TV shows, the dialogue comes through so clear that we never have to rewind to catch what someone said. Setting it up was a breeze, too. I was a little worried it might be complicated, but the instructions were super clear and we had everything up and running in no time. The wireless connections for the rear speakers are a huge plus—no messy wires running across the room! It also connects easily to our other devices, so we can play music from our phones whenever we have friends over. The sound easily fills our whole living room, making movie nights with family or just hanging out with friends so much more fun. Plus, the design is sleek and modern, so it fits right in with our decor without sticking out. What really surprised us is how affordable this system is for what you get. It's half the price for similar quality of the competition.

I really like the tap to play feature for my Samsung phone. Totally fills the entire room with quality crisp sound. I love the up firing speakers with the atmos it makes so much difference. Simple plug and play install. I'm still playing with the settings in the smart things app.but I'm sure I will get it just right soon.
