A: The package does say these can be used for ears, however they are terrible for this use. I don't recommend them for ears. I'm not usually picky about these, but I won't buy these again and had to donate them for art projects instead. They don't have enough cotton to be used for ears.

A: Btw, the box is plastic now. It used to be mostly paper, a nice square box that for well in cupboard, as well. New packaging is more than half plastic.

A: These can be composted. Check, however, if the product used is also compostable. For example, if used with nail polish remover and other chemicals they spoils no longer be composted

Biodegradable was recently removed from paper swabs due to changes in California regulations, as currently, the glue cannot meet the specs as written in the bill. Hope this helps - Josh
