A: The eucalyptus oil is only at a 0.001% inclusion rate in the finished shampoo. At that rate it would not be toxic to dogs and would not result in skin irritation. Eucalyptus oil can result in skin irritation if applied directly with no dilution. At the 0.001% inclusion rate, the smell of the oil is the main reason it is used in our shampoo. We also recommend the customers do a test spot on the pet 24 hours before use to make sure no skin irritation happens. And talking to your pet’s veterinarian is encouraged. Wahl loves pets (yours and ours) and would never put something out that would be unsafe for them. For this reason, we have our best veterinarians and groomers working with us to make sure every single animal is well cared for and well groomed. It's a good shampoo. Good smell, plenty of foam per amount of shampoo.

I used this on my dogs after they rolled in something in the yard, and they smelled horrible. I washed the dogs with this and it took two washes to even get the smell off but it did not actually leave them smelling good, they just did not stink.

It doesn’t leave a strong smell on my dog either, which is nice. I did need to use a lot more product than the directions called for. It lathered up somewhat, I think if my dog wasn’t always so dirty from rolling outside, I wouldn’t have needed so much shampoo and it would lather better. His hair looks very clean and feels soft after his bath!
