48"x44" Normandy 9 Cube Bookcase and Storage Unit - Wyndenhall

This is a beautiful bookcase in the exact color and size we were looking for! He bookcase came well packaged with no damage. Assembly was extremely easy with easy-to-follow instructions. All pieces were well-labeled to match the diagrams in the instructions. There was even an additional bag of hardware, labeled "extra hardware" in case you misplace something. My wife and I assembled the bookcase in about an hour, but we took our time. A note of caution: be careful as you are assembling the shelves to align the screws and be gentle when fastening everything. There is a possibility of chipping the paint around the screw holes if you aren't careful. We did this in a few areas, but backed out the screws and used some superglue to prevent the chips from completely detatching before re-fastening the screws. This only happened in 2 areas, so not a big deal. The bookcase looks great, is sturdy (Solid wood. Not cheap pressboard). I fully anticipate this bookcase lasting a long time.

Shelf unit came with incorrect hardware and we cannot build it. Target and manufacturer customer service have been awful. Neither has been able to get me the correct hardware and they act completely befuddled by the problem. I have spent lots of time on the phone, sending pictures, answering questions, etc and still no hardware has even shipped. I bought the shelf weeks ago. I regret buying. I hope I can spare someone else the trouble i have experienced.

Spent many months looking for the perfect shelving unit to store my collection of vinyls and fit a particular space. I came across this on sale so I went with the black color as it contrasts my white record player and it’s easier to see dust accumulation on black surfaces. All parts and components arrived well packaged and there was no damage at all. It came with a bag of extra parts that came in very handy and an Allen key. All I needed was a screwdriver. I was able to build the unit alone with very little trouble and some smart thinking BUT I suggest the average person have one person assist them. It starts off an easy one-man job but by the time you have to assemble the sides onto the center piece, its just easier with an extra set of hands. The unit isn’t completely sturdy until the back panels are installed. The back panels keep it from being able to sway side to side especially if there’s weight on the shelves. My only gripe is with one of the instructions. The bottom and top of the unit are fastened by cam lock pins and cam locks. The instructions say to tighten until the base of the pin is flush with the surface of the shelf and to avoid it not being flush. Well, when I did that, the cam locks couldn’t grasp onto the pins properly because the guide holes are just millimeters off. In the process of trying to tighten the cam locks onto their pins I damaged some of the locks and they didn’t set properly into their guide holes. Considering I’d be storing vinyl records, some of which are expensive, I didn’t want these locks jutting out to damage any of my vinyls. So I went back a few steps and loosened the pins by a couple of turns to have them come out further so the locks can grip onto them properly. The bag of extra parts came in super handy for me to do this, as all of the locks bent during my initial installation and some of them then broke when I tried to bend them back to their true orientation. All in all it wasn’t a difficult build and took me an hour. This was my only issue.

It is not the quality I had expected. And some pieces were already scratched.

Item was damaged and quality of structure is terrible.

This is one of the best pieces in the Acadian collection. I want to purchase another bookcase.

We purchased this bookcase for our grandson's room. When we opened the box, there was a very strong chemical odor. We put the box in the garage for a week to let it air out. It still had a chemical smell, but we assembled it and put it in his room with the windows open. It has now been 6 months and while the odor is not as strong, it is still giving off fumes. We contacted SimpliHome and found out that the only remedy would be to disassemble and return the bookcase for a replacement. The box is long gone so, even if we wanted to disassemble it, we would need an appropriate box and padding to send it back and there is no guarantee that the replacement wouldn't have the same problem. It is very disappointing since we loved the style of the bookcase.

Pretty once put together but not as "heavy duty" as I had hoped and other reviews stated. Putting it together was not as hard as other reviews made it seem. It has many holes/gouges that were painted over that were mistakes from when it was being built that were not corrected. Don't tighten anything to tight while putting together as the wood will split very easily. Not worth the price.

Definitely takes 2 people to assemble, and an electric screwdriver certainly helps! Once assembled it is a nice sturdy piece. We chose not to put on the back, which is very flimsy compared with the rest of the pieces.

Beautiful bookcase. The size is perfect for my intended use, which is to store and display vinyl records, music books and memorabilia. It was slightly difficult for one person to assemble, but not impossible. Took about an hour for me to do it alone.

Amazing quality, all real wood. Very sturdy and easy to put together. It’s a great way to hide the 100’s of toys my kids have. I bought a cheaper one and hated it and ended up throwing it way. This one is So worth the money.

I bought this to store my record collection. It was moderately difficult to put together, but might have been easier if I had had a helper. Nonetheless, I got it finished. The unit is very solid and the cubicles are just the right size for records. It holds about 500 LPs. As a bonus, it's a good looking piece of furniture, with a nice rich finish and no exposed hardware. I will probably buy another one.

This piece looks so beautiful in my room. I bought it to hold my vinyl records and it's perfect! It's a little hard to assemble and I would recommend pre-drilling holes when you screw the back panels on because the wood splits.

These shelves are made of solid pine with a nice finish. They are a nice quality and worth the price. They are not too hard to put together, but definitely a two person job. The small, milk crate size basket fits in the cubby just right.

This product is sturdy and all wood. The baskets fit the cubicles perfectly. If you are looking online for a good product that will last, this is it!
