I've started watching a lot of cooking videos and everyone says it is important to have a good set of knives. I decided it was time to stop using cheap knives and get a good set that will last me a lifetime. My son has a set of Henckels knives and is very happy with them. I decided that was what I wanted. I love the self sharpening feature of these knives.

I've started to really enjoy watching cooking videos and everyone says a good knife set is important. After using different cheap knives I decided to buy a better set of knives. My son has a Henckels knife set and really likes them, so that's what I got. I really like the knife sharpening feature as I didn't sharpen my other knives as a should have, this feature makes it so easy to keep them sharp. I love these knives and couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I recently purchased the HENCKELS DEFINITION 20-pc, Self Sharpening Knife Block Set and overall, I have mixed feelings about it. Let's start with the positives - these knives are undeniably sharp. From slicing through vegetables to cutting through meat, they effortlessly glide through with precision. The self-sharpening feature is a great addition, as it helps to maintain the sharpness of the blades over time. However, there are a few concerns that I have with this set. Firstly, the sharpening pieces included in the block are effective, but they do leave behind metal shavings. This raises the question of where these shavings go and whether they end up on the food I'm preparing. To err on the side of caution, I find myself rinsing off the knife each time I use it, which can be a bit inconvenient. Another disappointment was the discovery of rust spots on four of the knives. Considering that this is a brand new product, it was disheartening to see such flaws. Thankfully, I was able to remove the rust spots using bar keepers friend, but it does raise concerns about the long-term durability of these knives. To prevent future rust, I have decided to avoid using them in the dishwasher, which is a bit of a hassle. Lastly, the size of the knife block itself is quite large compared to my previous Chicago Cutlery set. While it does provide ample storage space for all the knives, it takes up a significant amount of counter space in my kitchen. If you have limited space, this might be something to consider. In conclusion, the HENCKELS DEFINITION 20-pc, Self Sharpening Knife Block Set has its pros and cons. The sharpness of the knives and the self-sharpening feature are definite highlights, but the concerns about metal shavings and rust spots are disappointing. Additionally, the oversized knife block may not be suitable for those with limited counter space. Overall, I would recommend this set with caution, keeping in mind the potential issues that may arise.

This knife set has every knife that I really wanted, like the chefs knife, santoku, carving, and two pairing knives. But some of the others have become my favorites, the utility and prep knives are super versatile because of their size, the shears are a great thing to have, and the set of steak knives is just the cherry on top. They are extremely sharp, but they are lighter than I expected, which is actually a nice feel. The handles are very ergonomic. The block is a beautiful color, and the self sharpening feature is a nice little addition to help those edges stay sharp. With good care, this set should last a lifetime.

The quality of the materials are great!

Love the fact that I don’t have to sharpen them!! I wish the picture of the knife was also included on the block so it’s easier to put them back into their assigned slot. Great sharp knives I purchased 2 months ago, they work great. I did put them in the dishwasher and they do have some “rust spots” but don’t affect the sharpness just the looks. I hope they last awhile!

So Happy I found this company and this set of knives. I was looking at replacing my basic knife set, so I did some research and found this company. After looking through a couple different sets I setteled on this set because it had more then 4 steak knives and a built in sharpener. I didn't think the sharpener would be anything fancy but it actually works really good. This set of knives are super sharpe and durable. So happy I have a few different knifes to choose from and I know my knifes are always gonna be sharp!
