Q: What is the safety level of the UV light? I’ve read that some are safer than others based on the glass encasement around them. Thank you.

  • A: The UV light is contained in the unit so you do not have direct exposure to it. All of our UV-C bulbs use a fused quartz body which filters out emissions with a 185nm wavelength. The 185nm wavelength is what creates ozone.

Not terrible for the value.

It’s loud. I bought to replace the germ guardian 4 in 1 elite tower I had for over 5 years which started burning the internal fan/blower out, it works I guess but is as noisy or more the old one and I imagine it will only last half as long. Compact with a UV light are still pro’s.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have allergies and asthma. I bought two AC4700s a few years ago at Costco. They worked well and were quiet. We leave them on low in our condo 24/7. We went through two sets of replacement filters each and one set of bulbs each. We were ready for another set of filters, but I could not find any on the Guardian website (found them with no problem last year!). These units were on sale on the website for $59.99. Because I could not find the consumable items I simply bought two new units. The replacement units work just as great as the originals.

I LOVE this purifier, I usually buy a different one but I saw this and bought it and it’s fantastic. The air in the room is nice and it’s so quiet that you don’t even notice it unlike the other towers I have(which I also like) but this is my new favorite by far. I highly recommend this :blush::blush:

This air purifier does a great job. You can feel the difference in air quality very quickly. The only issue is that, even on the lowest setting, it is quite loud. It's too loud to have next to a TV, but serves as great white noise to sleep to.

This filter is great for my 150 sq ft office. I love that it has 3 speeds. I find that the lowest setting is perfect. Not too loud either. I know it works well, because whenever I've had a strong smelling lunch, and walk back in to my office, I don't smell any remnants of it. Plus, big bonus points for the UV-C light option as well. Great to know it's doing its job during cold & flu season, and helping during COVID

Excellent Product

Purchased this at Costco during wildfire season and it not only eliminates the smoky awful smell but my headaches are gone as well! It's a bit loud if you crank it all the way up but once it has cleaned up the air in the room a low setting provides easy maintenance. I would definitely recommend this air filter to anyone! So easy to use and works like a charm.

Great Product

I purchased two Germ Guardian, this one and another I will comment on this one.. Arrived today and so far I love them both, just wish this one has more buttons as the others does., not as sleek. But works well. Question- Should I keep the UVC light on whenever the machine is on? I am not sure. Happy with my purchase.

I bought this product at a local retailor, and i couldn't be more happy with the purchase. After an hour you immediately feel a difference in the air. Love the features of this purifier, really recommend, especially if you have 3 cats like me! Very satisfied and price is very reasonable.
