Q: How do you know what size cup you need?
submitted by Klee - 4 years ago
A: Hi Klee, Thanks for reaching out! Most people can use both sizes, the small for lighter days and the regular for heavier days, but one size may be more comfortable. In general, we recommend the size small if you are a first-time cup user, have a light flow, or have a low cervix. We recommend the size regular if you have a heavier flow or a higher cervix.

I finally found something besides tampons that works for my period. I have tried another brand of menstrual cup and I have tried 3 different kinds of menstrual discs and the only thing that has worked is the salt menstrual cup. On my lighter days I can really leave it in for 12 hours which is amazing. I am loving this product so far
Love it so far!

I initially bought the larger (regular) size soft cup, which was definitely too big for me- so grateful Saalt sent me a replacement for no extra cost! The smaller size is slightly bigger than my previous (10+ year) cup, and I like the fit and feel of it a lot. I'd been worried about the soft cup leaking, but it's been great throughout my first period using it! Very pleased with it, and grateful to be able to support a sustainable brand.
a good menstrual cup for your needs

it's a good cup, it's soft and small as I needed it to be, even the stem isn't as hard as the other one I got a few years back
All I can say is WOW!

This cup is actually the 4th cup I've ever had and it has been a godsend for my cup issues. First: too small, couldn't hold flow, leaked, pressed against bladder, made cramps worse Second: held more flow but still not enough, pressed against bladder, made cramps worse Third: Held all flow, did not press up against bladder. BUT it made my cramps worse and it could not open fully when inserted, causing leaks. I had to wear pads as well as my cup. Fourth: This cup has been a game changer. It holds my flow, does not make my cramps worse, and doesn't press up against my bladder, and has NO issue opening all the way. I have NO leaks. AT. ALL. I wish I had found this cup years ago! Thank you Saalt!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love it. I just got it yesterday and I had to trim the stem. my cervix is low, so the small fit beautifully. I admit. It was weird going in the first time. (Took a couple of tries) same with taking it out. But I am so happy with how well it works. I slept, swam, and just enjoyed a leak free period for once. I got the cup to open up every time and have not had an issue with that so that has made this experience so much better. I am so excited to no longer have to spend money on pads and tampons that are both so uncomfortable. This is what a period feels like with no worries. :) I feel confident that I no longer have to worry about leaking.
Love it!

This cup is comfortable. I've had to purchase more than once just because every time you pull on it the silicone will stretch and eventually it gets to a point where it gets close to tearing... you don't want to be stuck with that! But it lasts for a long time and I will gladly keep repurchasing rather than using single-use menstrual products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ive tried several other cups and this is the only one that works and is comfotable for me. It fits so well, pops open easily and stays put! Wish I hadn't spent the money on the other cups, this is the only one worth paying for!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has been a game changer. Can’t believe i didn’t know about it sooner. I will say i wish the string was longer bc it does get hard to take out sometimes. But otherwise this thing is amazing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had two vaginal births, the most recent being just over a year ago. This cup stays put! It doesn't slide down like my last menstrual cup did (my last one even popped out on its own when bearing down). I was also relieved when I couldn't feel it at all after inserting! I live in Canada, but there were no surpise fees or charges which was such a relief. I've only used this cup for one period, but I love it so far!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seriously girlies- if it’s not Saalt don’t try it!! Switched to an off brand from Walmart after my dogs chewed up by beloved Saalt cup (yikes! I know. ) and suffered with a stiff, small, cheap cup for six months. Anyway I finally replaced it with Saalt and it immediately makes the difference in so many ways. So worth it.
Excellent purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third saalt cup (upgraded to the soft cup a couple years ago, then lost it). I tried a few other brands but inevitably went back to to saalt cup soft. I never experience leaks and as a newly postpartum mom, I find the saalt soft the easiest to insert and remove after having a baby.
Difficult to use. Customer service not great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I emailed and no one responded to me. I tried this cup once (I’ve tried a handful of different brands) and it was extremely difficult to pull out. Others I’ve tried have a ring pull tab making it super convenient to find and pull out. . It wasn’t for me and I wanted a refund

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Saalt cup because have a heavy flow and tampons just don't last. I found the cup to be bulky, hard to insert and generally really uncomfortable. It also kept on falling out spilling it's contents all over my underwear. I've binned it! Waste of £35!!!
I think I have the wrong size. It comes out on its own.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased one based off the recommendation of the company (I've had 4 babies) and tried all of tips and tricks. Unfortunately, this was all unsuccessful. I want to try a smaller size.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The regular soft cup for the win! I have unfortunately been dealt a heavy period and after my ten millionth leak I decided to retire tampons and pads and try a new method. I do have to admit inserting and taking it out is something to get used to. I first bought the small regular cup and quickly learned I have a high cervix so it was incredibly hard to get it out. It also was very hard to get it to open when inserted. Although it was so effective in between the insertion and removal that I decided to try the regular size soft version, and it is much easier to manage. This is a game changer for my life. Even on the heavy days where I normally would be leaking within an hour I get closer to 4 hours of time before needing to empty it, which allows me to leave the house. What a savior (and better for the environment)!
Unsure?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hi, so I really want to love this product! However, the first day I was using it, I could pee fine but the tail bothered me so much. The second day I cut a little of the tail and was still having the same issues. By the third day, I cut the tail completely. But now I can’t pee anymore with it in! I have no idea what happened but I’m upset about it. So needless to say, I’m neutral on the product. I love the idea of not using tampons. However, taking it out to pee every time really kind of sucks. Especially while using public restrooms.
Easy to use and comfortable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to use and comfortable! I watched a few of the Saalt instruction videos and had no problems using the cup. I have used the cup for two cycles now (one in swimwear as well!) and I have 0 complaints. I don't dread my period like I used to. I was surprised by how affirming it is to not throw away period care. This is period care that does not inherently tell women that our bodies are dirty/shameful/trash; Saalt's cups are artfully designed, comfortable, cute reusable items that take care of my body. I love them! I will never go back to pads or tampons!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time period cup buyer here and I can’t believe how easy and comfortable it is to use. After having my first baby, I had to stop using tampons because they were so uncomfortable. I had been thinking about using a cup for a while, but was worried about inserting, comfort, leakage, and removal. So far, none of these has been an issue at all. I’d say that removal is the most difficult part, but Saalt provides really helpful instructions and tips on their site. Cannot recommend this enough. And it’s good for your wallet and the environment!
