Q: Does this come with slides?

submitted by TReddy - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi The GeoSafari Jr. My First Microscope does not include slides. It has a large platform for kids to put everyday items onto it and look at them up close. It's a great introduction to a scientific tool.

Fun for Kids!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microscope was a fun interactive toy for my daughter to play with. It encouraged her to use her science thoughts and bring new things to look at under the microscope. It has easy knobs for kids to use. The magnification does not seem as strong as they advertise it to be.

My kids are obsessed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids and I received this as a promotion and we are in love! We've owned a few other toys from this company and they never disappoint. The kids love to gather things from the beach or backyard and bring them in to look under the microscope. It's not the highest quality, but for young kids it's wonderful. It allows us to talk about science and nature in a fun way and opens up the possibility to learn. I 100% recommend this product!

Easy To Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very easy for my 4 & 6 year olds to use! We have tons of fun inspecting our treasures from walks and trips around the yard. It's both a great learning tool and toy that can be enjoyed by all ages!

Genius

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good introductory microscope I like that it is lightweight so it's easy to carry around. We will start bringing it with us to the park so he can look for bugs, grass, sticks, etc. I also like that no batteries are required - only if you want to use the light. We are really enjoying his microscope. I love watching my son take his toy cars and examine them under the microscope. The microscope encourages exploration and discovery. When he finds something interesting,

Cute little microscope!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loves to look at bugs, leaves and flowers outside and has been using the microscope to get an even closer look! It doesn't have crazy magnification but I think it's great for younger kids, especially since it's easier for them to get it in focus!

Fun for preschooler

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the shape and colors of the microscope. It is nice as a first microscope for preschoolers, but it just seems like an over-glorified magnifying glass. It would have been neat to have some "slides" included that can provide an inside look into items. But, we have a magnifying glass that will show us the same things and it doesn't require batteries.

Great for preschoolers !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy microscope is geared towards preschoolers but even my older kids were excited to try it. The lens zoom is not super great but good enough for my kids to experiment a little. They liked looking at leaves and nature stuff.

Brilliant first microscope for budding scientists

This microscope is really easy to use. The big eye pieces and easy to turn dial make it simple for my 4 year old to work herself and once she got the hang of what it meant to focus it she was fine to use it by herself. Since having the microscope we have enjoyed finding new things to collect to look at and investigate. It has given a new layer of fun to our daily outings, my daughter really enjoys looking for new things to take home to look at under the microscope. The magnification isn't great but it is enough to be able to get a closer look at things and start the idea of exploring the world from a different perspective, the light helps to get a better picture.

A perfect toy for a curious child

We've had so much fun with this. My daughter is 3 and loves nature. We took these to the woods and looked at so many bugs and leaves under the microscope, she found it fascinating. They are really easy to use, with big eye pieces and a large dial on the side to focus with. It doesn't have a huge magnification but I really don't think it needs to for this age, any closer would have properly just confused her. Its very robust which it needs to be for any 3 year old. It also has a light which is turned on and off by the white button at the front – again easy for her to do herself , it has been left on numerous times and I still haven't had to change the battery. We also used it to look at lots of things at home, myself and her 5 year old sister have found it just as fun. This is a perfect toy for a curious child (and adult!!).

Perfect sized microscope for little hands

This is the perfect first microscope for toddlers/preschoolers. Both my 3.5 year old and 5 year old couldn't wait for their turn to look at things up close. I love how even the hand grip is perfect for their little hands and the LED light and magnifier helps for them to examine different things closely that they found around the house. They really enjoyed looking at their rock collection using the microscope and they mentioned how much clearly they can see using the microscope. With the weather (hopefully) warming up soon, we plan to go on a nature walk and collect some things that they want to look closely using their new microscope. The microscope itself is very durable and high quality and even though my 3.5 year old has been a little rough with it, it still works perfectly. I love that my kids are learning about science without even realizing it! I love getting not only my kids educational toys but I also try and buy educational toys for other kids' presents. This would be the perfect birthday and/or christmas gift and I love how it comes in two different colors.
