Q: Is the step that is used to wring the mop not working seamlessly for everyone? This is the second mop I’ve purchased with the same problem.

submitted by ap23 - 1 year ago
  • A: Thanks for this question. I have the O Cedar spin mop and bucket. The foot pedal pushing down makes this weird noise (not the seamless push you should have) and I have to pull it up with my toes it won’t come back up on its own. This has done this since I got it! I was just looking to possibly get the rinse clean version. But apparently I might run in to the same problem I really don’t want to Continue wasting money because it’s a huge pain in the butt!

submitted byCA from Ohio - 1 year ago
  • A: I've now broke two pedals which make the entire thing useless. The plastic ring on each side of the metal bar keeps breaking. People are putting their feet on these O-Cedar... reinforce properly.

submitted byJaceTheCurator - 6 months ago
  • A: That should not be happening. If not done yet, lease reach out to us by filling our contact us form on our website, we will be happy to figure this out and provide assistance.

Q: This might be a stupid question, but how do you use this? Lol. Like step by step. I put the head in the clean water, then wring it out, then mop, then put the head in the clean water again? Wouldn't that still just make the clean water dirty?

submitted by Iain - 5 years ago
  • A: Thanks for reaching out Lain! 1)Open the Flow Valve to allow water to fill the clean water reservoir. 2) Saturate the mop head with water 3) Wring out the mop head to the desired level by spinning it in the wringer basket. 4) Mop away! If you feel that the mop head is still holding a lot of moisture, you can wring it dry before going back to the clean water tank. Our mop allows the user to control the level of water they are applying to their floors. If you are mopping a stubborn mess that is stuck onto tile, you can step on the pedal just a couple times to leave a healthy amount of water still in the mop. If you are moping hardwood or linoleum, and don't want to apply too much water, you can step on the pedal seven or eight times to have the mop head just damp. So, if your mop head is still very wet after moping, it would be a good idea to wring out the excess water prior to going back to the clean water tank. Happy cleaning!

  • A: Lain-I'm with you on your question and they really don't explain it with their answer. You are definitely putting the dirty mop head back in the clean water. I was about to buy this until I started thinking about this.

submitted byGlenn - 5 years ago
  • A: Hello! I realize that this question was posted 5 months ago but for anyone else reading through these wondering this.....because I definitely was too before I bought it. What they don't show in the pictures or videos or description is the most important part! Inside of the bucket, not the spinny side but the clean water side, is a red plastic tab. You can kind of see it in some of the pictures. When you pull that up, it allows clean water to flow into the bucket. And when you push it back down it obviously stops the flow of water. So.....allow some clean water into the clean water side, wring it out, mop your floor, then when you want to rinse the mop, allow a small amount of water into the clean water side, allow your mop to soak it up then wring it out. Now your clean water side is empty and your mop is clean. Pull the tab to let water back into the bucket and use this fresh water to mop. And repeat. Hope this helps someone!

Q: When I tried to use the mop, I found that there were not enough fibers on the map head so the plastic center kept scraping the floor. I think that mop head needs twice as many strings or pieces of yarn or fibers.

submitted by Puzzled - 5 months ago
  • A: When mopping, it’s best to flare the mop head so that all fibers make contact with the surface and the red base lies flat on the floor and the pointed part of the red base is facing forward when mopping. This will help with the issue you are experiencing.

  • A: This happened to me too! I also have the other easy-wring version (without the clean/dirty chambers) that mop doesnt do this. Anyone know if we can use the white easy-wring spin mop with this unit?

Q: Is there a "Deep Clean" refill mop head that works w/ the "RinseClean" model? Can you really ONLY use water to clean your floors with this? What's in the mophead that removes 99% of bacteria?

submitted by KittyBee - 2 years ago
  • A: Great question! The RinseClean system indeed has a Deep Clean refill available! Please check out online where you can find them near you! O-Cedar microfiber mop heads are made up of millions of tiny synthetic fibers. When used with water all of these tiny fibers loosen and mechanically pick up dirt and bacteria, and carry it away, without the use of harsh chemicals. ❤️

Q: First time I used it, I found a small black piece of soft plastic on the floor. It would fit in where the red fresh water lever pulls up. But it doesn't stay in place. Is it broken?

Q: This will sound stupid but how does the dirty water from the wringing section get to the tank below the clean water? I've checked the photos but still can't figure it out. lol Thanks for the help.

submitted by Sarah - 4 years ago
  • A: There is just one tank for water. So the only time the water is "clean" is when you first fill it. After that the "clean" reservoir has dirty mop in it from rinsing The spin water goes back into the one tank.

    submitted byMomof3andadog - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi Sarah, the new two-tank system features two compartments that separate the clean and dirty water. The clean water tank fills the rinse chamber with just enough clean water to be soaked up by the mop. When you spin the mop in the wringer, the dirt and water are wrung out into the bucket below. The rinse chamber refills with clean water, ready for your next rinse.

Q: Is the mop handle on the 2 tank system better than the one on the 1 tank system? The one I have on 1 tank is pretty weak

submitted by CatGirlD - 3 months ago
  • A: The mop handle for both systems are the same one. This should help you out! -Hold the red handle in your right hand - grey in left. -Extend halfway (not fully) turn red handle away from you to lock. -Extend bottom grey part (closest to the base where the treads are) halfway, turn toward you to lock. You should now be able to extend both ends fully to locking position. If not, please reach out to us at https://ocedar.com/contact-page

Q: Is there a way to remove the blue cover to allow the clean water bucket to dry? I don't want to risk mold developing inside of it

submitted by Cam - 3 months ago
  • A: Hi Cam, The blue top is not removeable on the clean water tank. To refresh the tank, you may use vinegar and water then rinse and empty. Open the red flow valve and blue fill cap, this will allow fresh air flow to dry. Store your system with each open in a dry space. We are here if you need any more help!

    Difficult & Causes Damage

I’m so confused as to how this cleans a floor without any cleaner. If you put cleaner in the bucket it’s a mess. The mop head has scratched my original hardwood floors in my home as well. This is a waste of money!

Don’t waste your money. The original is cheaper and better. You essentially lose most of your clean water in the spinning process before you’re even close to finished mopping. They should have kept the spinner attached to the main basin.

    Useless, waste of money, expensive

The O-cedar previous version is way better. This new mop head is super small and has very little strands and very cheap. You will constantly feel that you are mopping with the plastic head itself. The tank is useless because you need to have enough water to soak the mop. Waste of money. I should buy the previous version, I thought this would be an upgrade but absolutely not. Will not recommend this product to anyone.

We appreciate the feedback! The red triangle-shaped frame and connector on the RinseClean refill are smaller than the EasyWring Spin mop to provide improved maneuverability, however the actual microfiber mop strings are the same in size providing the same great cleaning performance and cleaning into tight spaces and corners. Hope this helps!

Wanted to love this but still has some areas to improve.

So excited to try this mop. Wanted to love it. The actual fibers in the mop cleaned my floor quickly however it was cumbersome to use…enough so that I will be returning it. I do actually love the concept and hope an improved version comes out. Here are the cons: Mop length is too short. I’m 5’4 and felt like I was bending over to use this thing. Also it’s hard to get the mop head to flare out to get in proper position to clean. Finally I continually kept finding the plastic part scratching my floors. I’d have to readjust the mop head and I found the process annoying.

    Worst $50 spent

Do not buy this product. I just purchased it, and it’s been a terrible experience. The microfiber material sticks to itself and bunches up into a ball, making it unusable. The pole is very flimsy, doesn’t stay extended, and keeps collapsing on its own. Overall, it feels poorly made and frustrating to use. I will be returning it.

    Not worth the redisign

So it obviously does the job. The clean mop water gets things into it from the dirty mop even if you try not to. The mop head doesn’t stay put and you end up scraping the plastic that holds it on. I think the older O-Cedar mop is better. I don’t think overall it is worth getting for the price not user friendly. I will be returning and using the older version. First time moping and one of cotton tassels broke off.

The mop head doesnt even screw on properly. It fall off immediately. The extended handle also doesnt lock so it just collapses if you push it.
