A: I researched & confirmed European distributors have the British flag on the label whereas American distributors do not. That’s a red flag for me personally. European distributors: British Baby Shop, Formuland, Baby’s Best Food. Note: this is for Stage 1 which is what I was searching for.

A: Ingredients changed from Sodium Citrate to Chloride, Potassium Chloride to Hydroxide, removed Calcium Lactate and Magnesium Chloride, added Ferrous sulfate etc. Taste changed, be straight about it.

A: they are different the main change is the Iron source he changed from Iron Pyrophosphate to Ferrous Sulfate. Ferrous Sulfate has been shown in studies to cause more reflux.

A: Replying to my own question here as Kendamil have been really clear on Instagram and said there is literally 0 change to anything aside from the artwork! :)

A: To everyone accusing the brand of changing ingredients from the UK version: the United States and Europe have completely different ingredient labeling laws. The United States actually requires significantly more details regarding ingredients, therefore the label can be more extensive despite the product being exactly the same. People oftentimes accuse US food manufacturers of using more additives than European counterparts, but this is all ignorance surrounding labeling laws.

A: If you see the ingredients of the UK Kendamil Organic can before Kendamil started packaging for USA, you will notice they are different to the ones being used now. Both UK & USA have a new formulation

A: Hi, Our stage 1 milk is suitable for babies from birth through to 12 months old, meeting both EU and FDA infant feeding regulations. Although there is a Stage 2, The World Health Organisation encourages parents to continue to use Stage 1 given that it has a perfectly adequate amount of nutrients. Our Stage 2 formula differs in that it has slightly more iron to meet the higher iron demands of an infant once they turn 6 months old. Our little ones are expected to already be eating solids from the age of 6 months and these will naturally make up the difference between the two stages. So incorporating iron-rich food into baby’s diet - regardless of what type of formula or breastmilk they are on is something all infant nutritionists would advise.

A: I asked our pediatrician, she reviewed and didn't recommend stage 1 for my son ( he is 6,5 months old ). Stage 1 for babies 0-6 months.

A: It doesn't have enough iron despite what Kendamil answered above. We supplement with polyvisol, but they really shouldn't market it towards babies 6 months+

A: No sorry I tried this and it’s bacteria in the formula so it’s NEEDS to be boiled water basicallly cooking the milk at a certain temp ! Best bet is to follow the directions exactly how it is on the back The 30min wait after boiling will get it to the perfect temperature..highly recommend using a dr brown pitcher to make milk for the day instead of individual bottles

A: I know our standards in America are low especially w formula quality & prep. Were told boiling isnt needed due to water quality. False, it's the formula that needs to be sterilized, not the water!

A: Hipp Dutch, which is my preferred formula & other European brands state water should be boiled then mixed @ 104-122° F* to sterilize powder. I don't use tap so I just heat water to recommend temp.

A: Hi Becky, Kendamil is a UK company and our instructions state that you should prepare each bottle with freshly boiled water, following the direction on the can, right before feeding. This is in line with the advice given by the UK NHS (National Health Service) - regardless of the manufacturer or origin. We do understand that this differs slightly from the advice that is given by the FDA and CDC and would therefore suggest checking with your paediatrician for any further clarification if you have any concerns. Freshly boiling the water to 212 F (100 degrees) ensures to kill any bacteria present in the water. We always advise to cool the formula to 158 F (70 degrees), this temperature is hot enough to kill any potential bacteria entering the can. The sterile field is broken as soon as the foil cover is opened and may allow harmful bacteria from the air to enter the can. Please note baby formula is not sterile. 158F is an ideal temperature as it is not too hot to denature the nutrients/minerals in the formula. Hope this helps!

A: Hi AR, while we have updated our packaging to be more US-friendly (fl oz instead of ml for example) and to meet US/FDA regulations (like the order in which ingredients are printed on the back of the tin), our Organic formula is the same recipe as it was 12 months with the minor exception that we use the same iron source in it that we use in our UK Kendamil Goat range. Ferrous sulphate is not only perfectly safe to use, it is in fact, the most commonly used source of iron in infant formulas globally. It’s also worth sharing that as iron makes up approximately 0.01% of our formula (one hundredth of one percent) it is highly unlikely your baby would notice any change. Our Kendamil Organic Infant Formula is made using the exact same recipe, in the exact same batches as our U.K. product - they simply go into different cans at the filling stage.

A: This formula is of excellent quality and you do NOT want to waste it by giving your infant any cold formula. The bottle warmers work very well and milk will consistently be creamy and taste great!

A: Water should be heated to 104-122° F* when mixing to sterilize formula. Tap water should be boiled first.

A: No. We don’t boil the water first anymore, we use a programmed electric kettle to heat to 158 (recommended mixing temp). We also use filtered water in the kettle. Baby’s had no issues.

A: In the meantime Kendamil changed their website to powder setting 4 for organic. I asked Kendamil directly again and they still say 3. This is so confusing!

A: I was confused by that as well. I emailed Kendamil directly and they said for Organic Stage 1 it is powder setting 3, not 4. Basically the Breeza website is correct on all settings.

A: Now the Breeza website changed from 3 to 4 for Organic . I checked with Kendamil again and they still say 3. Doing the weight test, 3 seems much closer to hand scooping but it is very confusing!

A: On the baby Breeza website they state that powder setting 3 should be used, not 4 for the organic version of Kendamil. Could someone please clarify

A: I use the medium temp water only button and hand mix it. It melts pretty well with a good stir. Cleaning out the brezza parts makes me lose too much powder($).

A: for a newborn, probably closer to 3 weeks, since they drink less. my 7 month old goes through one every 5-6 days. these cans are actually bigger than most other brands. so pricing is actually very fair

Kendamil Organic formula includes GOS, a milk-based prebiotic oligosaccharide. Inside Kendamil’s milk is naturally-occurring HMOs, as found in colostrum after birth, specifically 3’-GL,4’-GL and 6’-GL which each play important roles in infant immunity. For example, 3’ Galactosyllactose (3’-GL), one kind of HMO found in this blend, has been scientifically shown to play a role in the reduction of inflammation in an infant's gut, by blocking pathogens from entering the bloodstream.

A: Hi Tolu, thanks for the great question! We recommend preparing each feed fresh and on-demand as that is best practice and as per advised by the NHS. However, in any instance where this is not possible, where you need to transport a feed (for example, to a nursery), prepare the feed at home, cool under a running tap or in a bowl of cold water, and cool it for at least 1 hour in the back of the fridge. Take it out of the fridge just before you leave and carry it in a cool bag with an ice pack, and use it within 4 hours. If you do not have an ice pack, or access to a fridge, the made-up infant formula must be used within 2 hours.
