Terrible carafe design

2.5 stars is a more accurate rating. The coffee maker itself is generally fine -- whether worth the price is debatable. However the carafe is one of the worst functional designs of any product I've ever dealt with. Rather than a continuous surface between glass and pouring spout, there is a ring of some sort on the inside of the neck of the carafe, so that it wells up around the neck before you are almost done pouring. This tends to get water everywhere as you try to empty all of the water out of it -- holding it completely upside down -- as you fill it up before brewing. Absolutely hate this.

Garbage. Poorly designed. Coffee and grounds will back up into chamber. Pretty but dumb.

For a brand that once represented quality materials and design, this was disappointing. It is pretty, sure, but clearly was manufactured without actual testing. As coffee brews, all of the steam is directed right upon its own display and control buttons, which become coated in and absorb the water. If you forget to put the top on the carafe before brewing, there is NO FAILSAFE and the coffee and grounds WILL back up and be deposited backwards into the inside of the machine. The internal chamber is NOT big enough for you to reach your hand into to wipe out the grounds, so it takes an endless stream of water showered UP into the chamber while SOMEONE ELSE holds the entire machine upside down over your sink. Do not waste your time and money.

Pour overs are pretty reliable

came in perfect condition. love the color. and is easy to use. they added a water filter, coffee scooper & coffee filters. so it was ready to use. which i just moved into my new place so that aspect was nice. pour overs normally make a really strong cup of coffee
