Create a comfy foundation for sleep with this Performance Mattress Pad from Threshold™. It's crafted from cotton-blend fabric with soft recycled fiber fill to offer cushioning for a more restful sleep. Helping to form an allergen barrier, this stain-release mattress pad is designed with a quilted pattern for a clean look. The skirt is designed with four-way stretch to provide a snug fit around a twin mattress, while the waterproof construction provides protection against spills.

  • A: I am also wondering the same thing and the answer that was below dodges the question. I saw in another answer that the backing is TPU which can contains PFAS. In Oeko Tex’s new standards it appears they test for total fluorine but have a tolerance for TF.

  • A: I found that this mattress pad makes a crinkling sound like you would hear if rubbing plastic sheeting together. There is no noticeable plastic backing but I do not find it noiseless.

Q: What is the width of the side of the mattress pad? In other words, does it fit a longer/wider Cal King mattress?

  • A: Hello Mary Anne! The size of our Threshold King Size Mattress Pad is 80 Inches (L), 78 Inches (W) and our Cal King Threshold Mattress pad is 84 Inches (L), 72 Inches (W). The traditional size of a Cal King mattress is 84 Inches (L), 72 Inches (W). I would not recommend you select the Cal King size option. Please disregard below comment from Matt. He mistakenly mentions our Queen size pad dimensions. One more thing, I noticed we have dimensions of the Cal King Mattress shown wrong on our details page. We are correcting this as I write this message. But it will take a couple days for it to show properly. Rest assure, the size is as I stated above. Thank you for shopping at Target. Crinkly and bunches

Very crinkly and doesn't sinch down well, it's hot and always seems to bunch up, I've never experienced a mattress pad like this. Been sleeping on it for 2 months and I'm switching to something different.

Do NOT purchase.

I've always had great experiences with Target and with their Threshold line. This particular item was the worst. The "skirt" to the pad did not have elastic in the corners to grab the mattress corner. The fabric was extremely thin and questionable but I thought it's Target...it's fine. I immediately washed it in a gentle cycle by itself before putting on my bed. The skirt fell apart. Ripped all over and tore apart in places from the pad top. I just put it in a big black yard bag and threw away. I'm very disappointed. I did not contact Target. It was so wet I didn't know how to return. While I do recommend Target online I do not recommend this particular item.

Not waterproof

Comfortable and easy to put on a wide mattress. However, it absorbs a lot of water when washed and takes multiple dryer cycles to fully dry. It is also not waterproof—when my granddaughter had a nighttime accident, the liquid went straight through to the mattress.
