If you press and hold the unlock button for two seconds, the screen will display the feature "Loc." Q: Have to unplug to open door. Pressed 7-9 & CXL to de-activate childlock & empty box comes up. When I repeat lock is displayed. It will not say unlock. I've had to unplug to open door.

  • A: One answer said minimum 2 which has to be true, not 12 inches. I only have about 8 inches clearance from my cabinet and have had several microwaves. But do need air space on left where the vent is.

    bought this microwave a month ago it quit heating food a few days ago. we drove half hour to exchange it. brought new one home, tried using it. it heats the food but there's no light in it. you can't see the food. shouldn't be this way out of the box. would not recommend.

    Looks are deceiving

    Bought this because our over the stove unit died and we needed a temporary one until the main one got replaced. This one is VERY inconsistent with heating things though - especially anything frozen. By the time center is hot, the edges are overdone and ruined. It is easy enough to use but cooking efficiency leaves a LOT to be desired. We did not have issues a year or something later - this is just within a couple months from purchase. It is very loud when running, too. The lock "feature" is stupid and not wanted. The stainless-looking finish gets dirty so easily (I despise stainless appliances). overall I truly regret buying this microwave. Paying ~130$ for this was such an utter disappointment but... we needed something until we could replace our main one (cost around 450$). I expected better. We have had it now for ~8 months and my entire family hates this microwave. Cooking is more and more inconsistent, reheating is the same way. Boiling water in a mug? That's about 11 minutes minimum. Ridiculous for something labeled as 1000w. I think it's overly exaggerated and deceptive as it functions like it's 450w. (Our old one was 1000w and heated flawlessly and quickly). Regarding the child lock and people cannot find the "unlock" button - look at the control panel. See the little lock and unlock picture under the bottom left, bright red "stop" button? THAT IS THE BUTTON. Just permanently disable the stupid child lock feature & be done.

    Great mid size stainless steel microwave

    Purchased to replace an Oster stainless steel microwave we had for 10 years! Nice sleek design, looks great with our other appliances. We disabled the door lock immediately due to no children in the home. Easy to use and fits the built in cabinet perfectly. Will be used for light duty reheating and cooking, we are in our 70's and expect it to last a while. Could not beat the price, purchased with $30 off. Lucky find.

    Don't purchase this microwave.

    The motor was broken after 3 years and I wasted over $100 for this junk. I go to heat up breakfast recently and the bowl stopped spinning. The microwave still counted down, the light was still on but it wasn't heating anything along again with the turntable not spinning. What a disappointment. My suggestion is save your money and go with a trusted general electric microwave and don't go with Cuisinart products.

    Stopped working at 14 months.

    I bought this 14 months ago and while it was amazing, the heating element went out. I could hear a crackling last time I was warming up my coffee. After that, the microwave just doesn’t heat up anymore. I wouldn’t recommend only because how soon it broke.

    Worst delivery driver ever!

    Driver dropped outside our business, gate closed, no one there. Stupid. Stolen within the hour cause I couldn’t get there any sooner. Driver should have kept it and made another attempt later. Target states they will try up to 3 times. So disappointed.
