Description

The cordless Dyson Gen5outsize has the suction power of a corded vacuum.¹ It has HEPA filtration for our deepest, most hygienic clean.     Happy with this purchase!

    This is our second Dyson vacuum and I’m very pleased with this one so far. It’s lighter than our previous model which is nice. I was really excited about the fluffy fiber head because we have hardwood floors throughout the house. I was bummed to see that it’s not the same size as the Outsize head. The reason I bought another Dyson was the Outsize head as it cuts my vacuuming time in half. The light on the fluffy head is really nice to highlight dust you can’t see with the naked eye. Overall, I’m happy with this purchase. Dyson produces a quality product and that’s important to me when I make a high dollar purchase.

    Gen5

    Bought Gen 5 from Dyson. Super friendly to deal with great discount fast delivery. Love love my new toy. It’s quiet yet powerful and so easy to use. Better than plugging in cords around the house. Not such a chore to vacuum now.

    Battery runs out too fast

    The vacuum works very well. It cleans well. The detection feature is great. I can go from hardwood to rugs easily. The only issue however is a big one. The battery runs out too fast and takes too long to recharge. It is difficult to use a great vacuum with no power. It needs to have an auxiliary battery pack.

    A Work Horse

    To save space I decided to use a Dyson cordless vacuum as my main vacuum cleaner in my apartment. Therefore, I needed one that had plenty of suction, could do a multitude jobs, and had an extra battery. The larger outsize Dyson cordless seemed perfect. I have used it for about three weeks now and it is working exactly as I had hoped. Could not be happier with the product and it’s performance.

    Disappointing Gen 5

    Not as pleased as i was expecting, you can only use the economy mode on carpets as the motor head stops if you use anything else, It’s not then picking up the amount of particles as it would if you use the more powerful mode and it shows you that. My model v10 was better

    New Dyson

    This is my fourth Dyson cordless vacuum. Gen5detect really does detect what kind of flooring I am cleaning. Battery life is great. Much quieter than my v11 outsize. Have to get use to the on/ off button. Suction is great for my fur babies fur.

    A great model for pet owners

    Works beautifully. Such a step up from the model we had that did not adiquately clean up all the pet hair. I particulary love the lighted wand used to clean the uncarpeted floors.

    Addicted to vaccumming

    I bought this a few weeks ago, and now am addicted to vaccuming. It has given me and my husband the motivation to vaccuum every day. The light makes it easy to see where you have missed and my house feels much cleaner. Only regret is I didn't get sooner. If there was a new one to come out - I'd love to see the light added to the hand held smaller attachments.

    Perfect and does what it says!!

    I have 2 Border Collies that shed like it is snowing. The Animal works great but is a pain for quick clean ups. This is perfect in size, weight and it really sucks! Other brands I have tried, but could not get the hair off the rug completely, no matter how many passes I made. This one takes only 1 or 2 passes and done!! YAY, another Dyson product that works exactly as stated!

    My new Dyson

    NGL You pay for what you gona get

    Second product from Dyson. From v15 to gen5. No disappointment, even after using for almost a year now. The suction and battery still holds the same performance.

    Best in It’s Class

    Purchased the Dyson Gen5detect Absolute on May 10 2026 and am very impressed - excellent suction, lots of power and much better battery life than older V6 that we owned. Included Fluffy Optic Cleaning Head is perfect for hardwood and tile floors. Noise level is much better and disposal of dust is simple. Overall, very satisfied with the product.

    Dyson Gen5 is Great

    I bought the Dyson Gen5Detect a few weeks ago and I LOVE it! It shows the dirt/dust as you pick it up. I especially like the On/Off switch rather than a trigger you have to press the entire time you are using the vacuum. Since the vacuum is heavy the switch is definitely more comfortable. It is a wonderful product and worth the money. It’s not noisy. Excellent suction and filtration. I would buy again.
