Great knife set!
Fantastic set and I love having it displayed in my kitchen. As for the knives themselves, they feel light weight, easy to hold, and super sharp. I highly recommend.

Good starter knives for someone who is not a serious cook
I am sadly disappointed with these knives. I have Calphalon kitchenware that are quality products, but these knives are not worth the expensive price. What I do like: The idea of a self-sharpening block is great and the block is nice and heavy. The knives are marked, so when going to grab one, you know which one you're getting. The handles have a comfortable grip. What I don't like: The blades! The most important part of the knife. The metal is light and flimsy. The knives cut well, but not impressively well. If the set was less in price, I'd give them a higher rating. These are good knives, but if you are a person who cooks a lot, these are not the very best knives to use.

Beautiful on the counter, comfortable to use, sharp, but if you don’t like handwashing, these knives are not for you!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These knives are beautifully crafted and definitely sharp! They seem durable but are not too heavy to hold. I like the self sharpening feature. The draw backs for me, the block is deep and sticks out far into my work space and the knives are hand-wash only. I know I will follow the directions but will others in my home and they end up being dish washed and possibly rust?

Sharp & Sleek

The knife block has a built in knife sharpener which sharpens the knife every time. The knives have a durable handle and easy to hold. I used the chef knife to cut a watermelon and it was a breeze.

The block is designed so that the knives are sharpened each time you place them back for storage. Each knife is labeled so that you can easily identify it before removing it. All of the knives came pre-sharpened and ready to use. This set also includes eight steak knives and a set of kitchen shears.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to be selected to receive this complementary from Influenster for my honest opinion and I finally received them. I need a good set of knives and this Calphalon brand SharpIn edgetrach was perfect! The knife block is very sturdy and honestly a bit heavy so I know it won't move around on my counters. Best part the design has the sharpen mechanism inside each knife blade slot- Win!!! The knives are light weight, the selection of knives that were include were on point! All the essential ones we need. The handles are a perfect grip. The Santoku knife is my all time favorite. Can use it for everything. Being that it's summer time I used the Chefs knife to cut a watermelon and OMG it cut it like butter! I will say having a good set of knives gives you motivation to cook. I had such fun chopping and cutting what a difference a good set of knives especially sharp ones make. Thank you Influenster and Calphalon for making my cooking days more enjoyable!

It’s very durable and the design of the sharp edge technology is great. They slide into the right slot with ease. If the pocket doesn’t fit the knife it won’t go in! Great safety feature. The knife itself weight to it. They cut like through a tomato like butter and the blades are sharp. It’s great the way the edge of the knife has imprinted on the handle tip the type it is. This has become my new favorite knife set. The larger knives have the sharpening ability built in. The steak knives do not. I definitely recommend having one of these sets.

Worth every penny!

Calphalon is a great name so I know this will be the last set of knives I have to buy. I t also contains a nice assortment of knives so I have what I need for all my prep needs! They are very sharp and balanced well so they are easy to use. I also love the built in sharpener. So much l love with these knives! The only flaw is that they have to be hand washed. For those who stick everything in the dishwasher it’s inconvenient, but I’m sure the will be around for many years so it’s worth it.

The SharpIn Edgetech is pretty amazing! I love knowing that I’m sharpening the knives every time I put them in & take them out of the block! But they’re already SUPER sharp- easily the sharpest knives I’ve ever owned. These knives are so well balanced and comfortable to work with. I don’t put them in the dishwasher, just hand wash and dry them before putting them back in the block. We are so pleased with this set, we’re buying another as a wedding gift- highly recommend

The knives came sharp right out of the box and the self-sharpening device should keep them sharp and ready for any cooking task. The knives are easy to grip and the nice contour of the handle keeps them from slipping in your hand. The wood block is attractive and the polished steel on top will blend nicely if you have stainless steel appliances in your kitchen. Each knife is separated with the perfect amount of space that makes it easy to grab a knife out of the wood block without disturbing the others. From using the knives several times, to self sharpen, you just press down lightly while pulling the knife out of the block. It's a smooth and easy process. Great looking and there is a knife for everything you need to cut, chop, or slice.
