Q: Does this rug pad have a chemical smell when taken out of packaging?

  • A: The Grid Pad Power Loomed Indoor Rug Pad does should not have a chemical smell when taken out of packaging. If a smell occurs follow the following steps: a. Air the rug pad out first in a clean, well-ventilated area, like a porch for a few days (a garage is not recommended unless the windows or the doors are open) b. Turn on the air conditioner or place fans within the space where the rug pad is located and keep the windows and doors open. This way will help enhance the flow of air in and out of the space. c. If you have an air-ventilation system (ducts that exchange indoor for outdoor air) keep this running for at least 48 hours after the rug pad is installed. You can run it for more if the odor is still present.
