A: Hi Ray, In accordance with safety standards, Thermacell Rechargeable Battery-Powered products should not be operated while plugged in or charging. The charging circuit disables when the battery is full. Leaving the repeller plugged in and it is fully charged, it will not increase the battery life or run time. Therefore, Thermacell does recommend that you unplug the repeller during extended times of non-use (longer than 2 months).

Makes a huge difference!
Our city didn't do aerial spraying this summer and we were getting eaten up any time we spent time outside. We bought this bc we were having a garage sale and were dreading it due to the mosquitoes. We set this up just outside our garage during the sale. It worked!!! We even had comments from people who had been to other sales in the area that they were attacked by mosquitoes at the other sales but not bothered at all by them at ours. I'm definitely a believer in this product.

Never used it, actually forgot about it until a BBQ WE HAD WITH RELATIVES from all over. They came prepared with repellant, bracelets sprays... Lol My Mom said didn't we get a thing to help with Mosquitoes? Brain just remembered. Got out my THERMACELL FIRED IT UP. Everyone was impressed. Our own Force Field of protection. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The battery works really well and it charges quickly however I did not notice much of a difference when I had this right next to me in my backyard in Miami. Maybe it deterred something but I could see the mosquitoes coming right up to me while this was right under my legs or arms.

This is an excellent product. I have no idea how it works, but I have successfully been able to sit on my deck with zero mosquitos bites for maybe the first time…ever. Great Product. Major disappointment.
I bought this for a resent camping trip. The product did its job well. Mosquitos and flies were repelled expertly for the hour I used this. Unfortunately, on the trip home the entire cartridge leaked out. Money down the drain. The directions don’t mention this, but it must be stored right side up or you will lose the contents of the entire cartridge.

Never got a chance to use it.
Bought this to use on our deck. Unboxed it and set it on the charging base. After about an hour the room smelled like burning plastic, sides were hot, and the charging base and the port do not work. Be careful when using this.

Relief
This is my second thermacell, I also bought the 40 hour scent cartridge. We have used this brand of mosquito repellent for approximately 7 years. Our other thermacell still works, this is for additional areas or to loan to my friends and family while camping with them. It's a great product, I've tried to find others that are well spoken for, but they never do the same job. Seriously, we even see the line of mosquitoes that are being held back from our area. Amazing.

I haven’t even used yet and I turned it over and liquid leaked out. Waste! And cartridges are too expensive. I thought I could put in “picnic basket to go”. If it leaks I’m returning
