Q: Can the unit be on while it's charging

  • A: Hi Ray, In accordance with safety standards, Thermacell Rechargeable Battery-Powered products should not be operated while plugged in or charging. The charging circuit disables when the battery is full. Leaving the repeller plugged in and it is fully charged, it will not increase the battery life or run time. Therefore, Thermacell does recommend that you unplug the repeller during extended times of non-use (longer than 2 months).

The science and data on our ingredients indicate that they should not be of concern, if used according to label instructions, for people or pets.     Great product

    Thank you for your feedback. In breezy weather, place the unit upwind of your location so that the repellent is carried by the wind into the area you want to protect. Thermacell may be less effective on very windy days, although mosquitoes aren't typically out when it is very windy.

It took me a while to use this, but I really like it it doesnt smell bad, and it works really well. I like that fact it is reusable and easy to use and moves around to where I need it. The packaging and setup are really easy to use, which is another plus. I would recommend this to anyone that has to be outside and deal with pests.

    Charge inadequate, still had mosquitos

    I had it charging in the base for two days. First use lasted 2 hours before low battery warning. Didn't start smoking until an hour after I turned it on.

    It really works!

    Used it in Malaysia for 4 weeks as I like to sit on the verandah of mum’s house to read. It was previously impossible to escape the mosquito bites despite lavish application of mosquito repellant. Almost tempted to use it indoors as the mats resemble the ones used by locals in the indoor units sold over there.
