Terrible highlighting kit. The cap is double-layered, so it’s really hard to pull strands through — my scalp hurt! The plastic hook doesn’t work at all, and the color came out uneven. Definitely not recommended.

Great color but bad reaction
I’ve used L’Oréal hair color products for years. Results have always been consistent. I’ve used the La Petite Frost several times without using the frosting protective cream. Today, my hairdresser asked if I wanted to try the protective cream which I agreed to. Within 5 seconds, my scalp was burning! The hairstylist applied cold water to stop the burning. I will continue to use this product without the protective cream. I’m concerned for the safety of other users of this product. What is in the protective cream that would cause this reaction?

BAD CAP
I would have given a much higher rating if it weren't for the cap. The circles were barely visible & the hook was VERY hard to punch through the holes. OUCH - I was in the very center of the circle once I found it and could literally feel the cap material stretching before it went through. Seems like it made a bigger hole than needed. I see that this problem has been addressed at least a year ago & hasn't changed. The color (caramel) is perfect on my dark blonde hair leaving it on 55 min.

Love the results
I have used many different kinds of frosting kits and I do believe this will be my go to from now on. I love the color of the highlights. My hair is dark to medium brown and they came out the perfect shade of blonde. I pulled my hair through the cap by myself using the metal hook (little tricky on the backside but can be done). One thing that I discovered was if you have the hook facing up when pulling hair through it is much easier and grabs the hair right away. It only too me 15 min to do the front, top, and the sides. After pulling all the hair through I went back over with a fine tooth comb to ensure that the hair was pulled all the way through. The back was a little tricky like I said but I used a mirror and was able to do it as well. I have fine hair that is naturally curly so I went with the LaPetite frosting kit.

Great Blonde Color But Cap and Hook A Nightmare
The Chardonnay box gives a very light, blonde color. However the circles on the cap are barely visible AND the hooks are awful. Forget the plastic one, totally useless. The metal one has such a blunt end that its hard to pierce the cap. After this last use I have sworn off this product due to the cap and hook. Have Loreal staff even tried to use this product? Please darken the circles AND provide a sharper, better hook. The bleach is great however.

will never use it again
took for ever to pull the hair from the cap I waited 70 minutes because my hair was dark brown , after it dried it had too many strange colors, in the front gold to yellow, in the back different shads of orange It's a mess and I don't know how to fix it

My go-to forever!
I have been using this highlighting kit for years and have never had a problem. I have natural red hair and get so many compliments on the blonde lites. Note to other users: You cannot use " color remover " to remove blonde/bleach from your hair. Blonde/Bleach IS the color remover. I always brush my hair and part it the way I usually style it before placing the cap on my head. This will ensure minimal to no tangles. To pull hair through the holes, I find the metal hook is better than the plastic one. I poke through the hole and do a SMALL circle ( with the hook ) to grab the hair and pull it through. After I have pulled the hair through all of the holes I'm using, I will go back through and brush the hair that's been pulled out of the cap before ever applying the highlighting mixture. Always check the tip of the hook every now and then because I find a build up of plastic on it that needs removed to provide better sharpness of the hook to pierce the holes. I hope this helps anyone needing it because the color, ease of application, and price are very well worth it.

Won't use again.. Plus can't remove color
I used La Petite frost "For longer hair" . Now I can't remove the color. I have tried to remove these highlights with hair color remover and didn't work out well at all. I even colored over and didn't like how the color turned out I even matched my hair color. Now I used another hair color remover called "OOPS" as I did before. The blonde is still there. It won't come out. There's no solution now. Not happy at all

So frustrating!
I put the cap on..then could not get any hair thru the holes with the hook, tried both hooks. Had my husband even try and we both just got frustrated and gave up!! I have used Preference hair color for many years and have been satisfied with that product, which is why I chose thus L’Oréal product.

I've been using this product for years ...I love it but the circles on the cap have been getting lighter ...either I'm going blind or you have lightened them so much I can hardly see them..I do my own hair and getting so annoyed...I'm ready to switch to another product...

Returning to the store
Got as far as putting the cap on and then the irritation mounted. I have FINE hair. I managed to get TWO strands of hair thru the cap then I struggled around the face area. The holes in the cap just kept getting bigger as I tried to get any significant amount of hair thru the cap. I could only imagine the liquid oozing thru the cap. Cannot express how ticked off I feel right now.

Bring the old version back!!
I have used this product for years and loved it. They have changed the cap and now there is no guide lines for which holes to pull through. Also, the circles are too light to see when looking in a mirror for the top/back of the head. I did not realize that there was 2 packets of lightening powders and once I found the second (after already finishing up) I wasn’t sure if I should have used both, or if the second one was a mistake. There is no longer a cap to cover the highlighted pieces. The only thing that I liked about the new version is that you get less when choosing your hair length so that there is less waste. Overall, so disappointed and will no longer be a customer.

Not happy!!!
I just bought this product and was excited to use it! I used it and I did absolutely nothing and the product itself was really thick like toothpaste. I’m very upset about this!

Love Affair with La Petite Frost
I love La PEtite Frost. I have been using it for years. H75 Chardonnay gives my medium brown hair the perfect highlights to regain the blonde I had as a child. It is never brassy, and always works perfectly. And the smell of the conditioning shampoo...is heavenly.

Upset Customer
Purchased the H55 Creme Caramel for highlights for a friend. Put the cap on their head to pull hair through the holes. The cap was so tough to get through using both the metal and the plastic picks through. It is the worst time I have ever had highlighting someones hair in 15 years. You had to almost shove the pick through the holes to pull hair through. Very upset customer.
