We've been using our 8qt instant pot pro now for two years. Im glad we got the pro model, it has a more powerful heating element, so it reaches pressure faster. It has worked out very well. We use it about twice a week.
Shame on you Instant pot

This pot only goes for one hour. The stainless steel insert pot does not clean up well. It has a poor quality finish onside do you have to s rub the daylights out of it to get it clean. The cord is no longer detachable.which makes it a nightmare to store and contain. I do not recommend thus version.
Stopped working at 14 months.

Title says it all. Like many other reviewers, the pressure release valve on my IP stopped working at 14 months. What a waste of money. Slow cooker feature doesn't work either. My first IP (different model) has worked for 6+ years and still works like a champ, but I wanted a larger model and liked how this one vented. I regret buying this. Very disappointed!

When the pressure release valve will fail (and it will) the only option will be to replace the entire machine because this small 2 inches piece is not available anywhere. I don't think it is a good marketing strategy. Hey! Instant Pot, are you aware of the state of the planet?

Did not come with a pressure release valve weight. Not useable without it. Waste of time ordering to Alaska. Took forever to get here and was refunded but have to re-order & throw this one away- seems like such a waste for such a small problem.
Has been a blessing I wish I ordered sooner

This product has worked very well for me for over a year. It makes things like rice, pasta, and chicken so effortlessly and fast. No longer do I have to stand over a boiling pot of water to make sure it doesn't boil over. The extra functions make it nice so I can cook the meal in one pot. An after market air fryer lid has even expanded it's functionality. It's just to stupid simple to mess up, but I'm sure those Tide Pod eaters of today will find a way.I enjoyed mine so much I bought my brother the 6qt pro to help with the meal preps when he has the kids (he's divorced and she took custody).
Its Awesome!

Waste of money...Here's whyFor the amount of money it costs, you won't get most out of it. My pot keeps giving C8 error constantly. I unplug, wait and start again. Randomly after 4-5 times it may work. Also, the ring you buy to replace doesn't seal well even though it is their own brand
Still going strong and working great after a year!

I am confused as to why the bad reviews. I have owned instant pots since day one and for a while did not upgrade. Last year I decided to jumo the boat on this one because you can reduce the time to do the natural release down to 6 minutes or so preventing the juices from meats to escape into the liquid. This one performs great and I can soften grains in no time. Don't forget to add salt to help soften the skin and a bay leaf as well. It's been a year and I am still super happy with my Instant Pot! Take the time to understand how pressure cookers work and you will not be disappointed.

I purchased ours when it first became available (4 -5 years now). It does so much, and does it so well that we got rid of all the other counter hogging appliances and use this nearly every day. It's easy to clean and has held up to years of daily use. I don't know what we'd do without it! One of the teens finally managed to lose the float valve retainer seal the other day but I was able to find an aftermarket replacement parts set for less than $15.00. It's back in action again. Yay!

The pressure weight stopped sealing and now pressure leaks out when trying to cook. The slow cook is so low and slow that it doesn't actually cook.

I bought this specifically to make L. reuteri 'yogurt' which requires fermenting at 100 degrees for 36 hours. I haven't used it for anything else, but so far it is working perfectly. I even checked the temperature with my food thermometer and it was accurate!

It is not user friendly. If you want to slow cook it takes multiple steps to start the cooking — not simple. Yet, no instruction book came with it. I can find it online, but the site does not allow me to print.

I've had this for several months- I love it. I use it to sterilize my jars for my yogurt-like 'super food' (Super Gut) and to make chicken stock, and my vegetable curry for lunch at work. It's also great for cooking beans- slow cook overnight. So many uses! And it's great when it's too hot to cook outside. Set it and forget it! I use this one way more than I thought I would. Highly recommend!
