Q: Does this burn the eyes?

submitted by Jlynn - 3 months ago
  • A: Don’t put it in your eyes.

Q: Is this a mineral sunscreen?

submitted by Bella Doll - 3 months ago
  • A: The Ordinary UV Filters Face Sunscreen Serum SPF 45 is not a mineral sunscreen. It uses a blend of chemical (organic) UV filters such as avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate, and octocrylene.

Just, no. Greasy and doesn’t absorb. Save your money and put it towards a sunscreen you know you love and works.

Very heavy sunscreen

This is not my favorite spf. It is not a serum consistency. It's quite heavy and stays sitting on the skin. I thought it was a chemical sunscreen, which should sink into the skin well. This doesn't act like a chemical sunscreen at all. It is heavy and I can feel it on my skin the whole day. Very greasy too.

100% worst skincare product I've ever bought.

I have used the ordinary skincare products for over a year now and love them! I've never had more clear skin. I saw they came out with an SPF and I was so excited. Immediately bought it and started using it. Within the first hour of using it my face started to break out. I stopped using it but the damage was done. My face and neck are now covered in bumps. I have never had a skincare product do this to my skin, and it doesn't seem to be getting better. Please save ur money and your face and do a test patch on your arm or something. Or better just skip out on this product.

I wanted sooo badly to love this. I love the bottle, the pump and the consistency of the SPF but once it goes on your face it makes your skin sooooo oily and greasy! And I have very dry skin! It made my face look so shiny and just felt oily to the touch. Maybe it works best under foundation, but I don’t wear any. Unfortunately this is a no for me.

I know some people were complaining about greasy heavy feel on certain skin types. I have oily skin at baseline and I felt like this sunscreen is so light weight/elegant on the skin. I'm in my 30s and feel like my skin is more prone to dehydration lately. So applying this feels more like a hydrating hug. I don't feel it on my skin throughout the day. Spreads easily like a dream despite using typical American filters. Glow is stunning and enhances my makeup bases. I think they did an excellent job formulating this sunscreen and it is my new favorite daily go to.

As with the Ordinary products I have tried thus far I have been especially happy with this - is super lightweight, absorbs into my skin and does not leave the dreaded white residue

I've been on the lookout for SPF specifically for oily-acne prone skin and this deserves no hype. ESPECIALLY for people with acne. I already have active hormonal acne and this "SPF Serum" made it worse. It's very runny and greasy at first, takes time to dry down, and broke me out within days. SAVE your money and pass this sunscreen please.

I know all skin is different but this works great for my skin. I'm prone to breakouts and have combination skin. This worked well as both a sunscreen and very effective moisturizer for me. I don't wear make-up so not sure how make-up would build on top of this. It goes on VERY greasy but then blends in and I never felt oily. I'm on my second bottle.

Feels like a glowy serum that smooths out the skin. Its a staple in my routine now under makeup and looks flawless. However i would not reccommend this to someone with oily skin, it may become too greasy for you.

its not as good as the supergoop one ive dried but this one is still decent. Its very lightweight and not overly oily. Its not a mineral sunscreen so it isnt tinted but it doesnt leave a white cast, at least on me. (I'm VERY pale). I live in Arizona but I havent noticed this has been sweat off or anything. Not sure how waterproof it is.

There is quite literally nothing special about this - it's a normal sunscreen that they've just called a serum. If anything it's worse than normal bc it's greasy. Not worth the price whatsoever.

I love this sunscreen and use it daily! I use it under the elf hydrogrip primer and dont have issues with it breaking. My skin leans towards combo and it hasnt caused any breakouts. Purchased twice now!

I tried this on my hand in store before purchasing and thought it'd be hydrating and easy to blend. Once I tried it on my face, I found it to be way too oily! I had to powder my face to feel like I could go outside, which I never do. Immediately returned it.

As someone with combination, sensitive, deep brown skin, finding a daily SPF is a constant battle. I need an SPF that doesn't pill on top of my morning skin care and wears well under makeup without causing too much oilyness or my makeup to shift (a little bit is unavoidable) and doesn't break me out. I double cleanse every night. Anything that I have had some success with is super expensive, so at this price point I had to try it. Initially, I was pleased. It wears really well, with and without makeup and does not leave a white cast. However, after about a week+ I suddenly had a severe acne breakout. The only thing I had changed in my routine was the SPF. The acne is deep and painful and a deal-breaker for this product. The price was too good to be true.
