miles better than canned pinto beans
I really like these a lot. They are much more flavorful than pinto beans and don't have that weird, slightly sour processed flavor. I don't have to try to spice these before adding to a recipe like with pintos. Great texture and more easily digestible than whole black beans.

I enjoyed this before they changed the recipe. I will not buy it if it isnt vegetarian & has lard. It's ridiculous that it costs so much extra for the vegetarian, organic version that doesn't have the lard.

Can of regret
How many times have you ever rated a canned good? Almost never. I came on here though because these have got to be the worst tasting refried beans I’ve ever put in my mouth. I won’t even eat them. That’s how bad they are. Do not waste your money on these beans. Target I don’t know what you did to these, but they’re gross. First of all, I like to have never gotten them out of the can. They would not slide out like regular refried beans. I had to chop them out of the can. I tried to make them edible by adding chicken broth, seasoning, and mashing with a potato masher. Still terrible.

My Salvadoran husband is picky with his beans but likes these!!!
They are one of the best can refried beans. I put a lil oil in the pan , add some chopped onions let it sautee in oil, i add the can of beans, stir in the onion well, I add a half can water, mix well, let simmer for a few minutes to let it thicken back up and they taste AMAZING!! RESTAURANT QUALITY.
