Signature Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips - 12oz - Good & Gather™

I like the taste and that they’re accidentally vegan. Used to be under $4 a bag, $6 now is steep for a generic brand :( I do appreciate they’re fair trade though and maybe that’s part of the reasoning for the price, idk

I ordered these chocolate chips and the first bag they sent me expired in August. The second bag they sent me expired 26 days ago. CHECK THE DATE BEFORE YOU SHIP IT! This was part of my $10 off Good & Gather promo and now I’ve lost over half of that because they won’t send me another one. Probably would be expired anyway.

I've been on a search for good dairy-free chocolate chips for several years since my old favorite priced itself out of my market. G&G Signature Semi Sweet are so good that I found myself eating them directly out of the bag. They have great flavor, the texture is smooth an creamy and they're dairy-free!

Fantastic flavor and very smooth. Appreciate they are fair trade and tree nut free (at least at the time of this review).

I had actually stopped making my annual fudge as the chips I had used for decades were no longer of adequate quality to make it worth the expense and effort of making the fudge. These chips are very good flavor and do not seem to be mainly paraffin. My fudge was once again worthy of gift-giving. One batch went out over pre-Christmas days and another will go out for New Year’s. They’re also good in cookies, though there I also am happy with the less costly good and gather chips. Very good.

Since before you were born, I've been making chocolate chip cookies. I've tried a lot of different brands and varieties over the years. During the pandemic, my absolute favorite chips, which were a house brand for a major grocery store chain, disappeared from their inventory, never to return. Since then, I've been on a quest to find a similarly flavored, sized and textured chip, which is the only reason I put a bag of these G n G 's in my cart yesterday. Today's cookie making was an edible, but disappointing, session. These chips have only minimal flavor, moderate melt, and are certainly not an ingredient I would recommend or use again. The search continues...

Really good chocolate chips! They have a good flavor and texture and in my opinion, they are indistinguishable from regular chocolate chips. I love that they are non-dairy and affordable, unlike some alternative brands.

I love these chocolate chips! I’m dairy free and these one of the few and affordable dairy free chocolate chips that don’t contain milk. These are my go to for baking as well. They taste amazing, 10/10.

Tasty and plenty clean compared to many other available options. I enjoy them as a treat and cheap substitute for more expensive, but lesser quality, non-fair trade chocolate. 👍

Bring back the organic version!

Real chocolate chips have pure vanila extract in the ingredietns, not natural flavoring or artificial flavoring, nor vanilla bean powder which is in these!

I understand the negative reviews but I don’t think thosecustomers understand the big picture. I doubt that Target wanted to discontinue that organic product, but I’m guessing some ingredient price went up and they would either have to increase the price by so much that consumers would complain or change the product. We’re living in a different world now. Supply chain issues and shortages are real. And the results show up in the marketplace. As for ME, I’m allergic to milk proteins and this is one of extremely few chocolate products I can eat. It’s the most reasonably priced of my alternatives. I’d prefer if it were organic and clean but maybe that’s not possible or practical right now. The alternative for me is going without. So I am glad this product exists! Try to consider all the variables before complaining. You may not realize how much people with food allergies suffer because common allergens are thrown willy-nilly into so many products. My choices are usually to make something from scratch, pay tons more for organic (that I can’t afford) or go without. I cant make chocolate chips from scratch! This product tastes delicious and doesn’t deserve negative reviews.

I agree with the previous review; sad that they’ve replaced the organic, simple chocolate chips with this. Why mess with a great product. Just another thing I’ll be getting elsewhere now.

While shopping for the organic semi sweet chips I always buy I couldn’t find them and saw these instead (along with the dark chocolate chips). I was told these are the replacement. Not only are these not organic, even worse they have soy lecithin added and for about the same price as the old cleaner version! It is hard enough to find clean and reasonably priced products but beyond frustrating to have them suddenly replaced using inferior ingredients. Will now be looking elsewhere.
