A: I have 9 x12 rugs in each room. We take them to a local laundromat. We wash and dry them there. Warm water. Low or medium heat.

Using a rug pad that allows for proper ventilation can help keep your rug cleaner and moisture-free. In addition, vacuum cleaners work much better on rugs when there is sufficient airflow underneath. Cushioning: Foot traffic continually presses rugs down into the floor, which causes continual wear and tear on the rug’s back and pile. Adding a layer of padding helps cushion the rug and lesson pressure, helping to prolong the rug’s life. In addition, the extra padding helps deaden sound in the room.
